What do you REALLY wear in the field?

The above is bull and nothing but an inane rambling.

As an MSL (not sales you idiot) dress to your company standards. Some are cool with suits, others are fine with jacket and no tie. Either way no one really cares. Customers judge you by what you know.

Wear nice slacks, collared shirt and a jacket. Tie optional most places but recommended in the NE. If you are in a rural area you can lose the jacket and consider a polo golf shirt instead of a long-sleeve shirt.

Some companies are more casual or don't care. Some companies make a big deal of where a suit and tie. When in doubt or if your manager is riding along step it up a level.

If you show up in a hospital or clinic in a suit and tie everyone automatically assumes you are a rep, the doctor, the patients and the staff. I have had everyone from the parking lot attendant to the receptionist shaking me down for "freebies" back in my early days when I wore a suit. Now, I try to mimic what the physician wears, if he's in gaberdines and a polo shirt, I'll be in serious business casual. If he's in full "southern drag" (I cover the deep south and this means Dockers, white shirt starched stiff and bow tie, suspenders, etc) I might wear a sports coat and a nice knit shirt, but never a suit.
Whoa I want more info on what a Deep South physician dresses like. This is modern times? Wearing a bow tie - Im simultaneously intrigued and want to move south haha
