They are crushing us in PFA because our management knows nothing about manufacturing. I mean CRUSHING us in a huge market that now makes up 56% of AFib treatments.

I won't share the numbers but it's bad. The MDT team worked their asses and pulled off a miracle considering how bad the problem was and is. 100% upper management is why we are getting crushed. We are lucky one director saved PFA in an underhanded manner.

I knew being first in the US was not as important as the product and MFG capabilities. I've been proven right.

They will sell off Affera PFA and RFG if we can't get it off the ground. Right now they have invested too much over quite the vaporware that looked cool on paper unless you understand physics, manufacturing, reliability and engineering more than a prototype.

Why would MDT spin Diabetes off? It’s one of the main growth drivers - GM speaks of in town halls.
It may not be fully up to them. It may ultimately be the board + Blackstone combo - again both are (rightfully) PISSED and it is a lot easier for a syndicate of buyout PE funds to come in, slash 50% of the people in that division, reposition and focus the portfolio (which is already in motion post Abbott announcement and failure in Simplera), and MDT as a mothership just isn't built to make the changes that need to be made to make it competitive. The core issue is they are getting their ass handed to them by Insulet and I have to be careful here, but those of you who have worked on the patch pump "program" know the difference between the delusion and incompetence of Q and GM vs. the reality that we're likely going to place our bets on a shitty Medingo reboot out of Israel unless Blackstone/BOD step in to stop the charlatan over at Medtronic Israel that is Yaron Itzhari.
