Bronco's Post-Game Wrap Up
=====================
Well, folks, I am the first one to rag on myself when I mess up - but I just love to do the on-line back flip when I do good.
After all the games were tallied I went 9-3 in Week 14. For the season that puts me at 82-72. Not bad for a guy who was deep in the red (under .500) just 3 weeks ago. Going into the bowl games I'm @ .532. If I could go .550 or higher it would be awesome.
My viewpoints on the games:
1) Georgia was awesome in the first half against LSU. Second half? Not so much. There were some missed offensive opportunities that might have provided Georgia with the momentum needed to beat LSU. Even though they played in the Georgia Dome it was pretty obvious to me that pro-LSU officials reffed the game. The first LSU punt return for a touchdown should NEVER have counted, as the returner threw the ball back at the ref before the ball even crossed the goal line. There were also a couple big pass interference plays against Georgia that never got called. Plus there was a helmet to helmet contact against a Georgia running back that never got called. So the refs really helped LSU gain their momentum. That's okay. I can accept the fact that LSU is going to the national championship. They had an outstanding season without a loss.
2) Oklahoma St. manhandled the Sooners. What a blowout! IMO Oklahoma St. needs to go to the national championship against LSU. Put Alabama in one of the BCS bowl games. The Crimson Tide has their chance at LSU and lost. If you don't win your conference you really have no business being in the game deciding the best college team in the nation. That's my opinion.
3) Southern Miss proved that Houston was an AP top 10 imposter. 49-28. Should never have been ranked that high. I was happy they lost big. Boise should be ranked above Arkansas, Houston and Virginia Tech when the revised polls come out. If Boise isn't ranked 6th or 7th - it's all rigged.
4) Boise won big against N Mexico State, as expected. 45-0. Kellen threw 29-33 for 313 yards and 3 TD's. He should be right up there for the Heisman. Minimum runner-up. Kellen had a mega career at Boise and I look forward to watching him on Sunday afternoons.
5) Man oh man. Did Clemson rip W Virginia a new one or what??? 38-10. Some people lost faith in Clemson. I didn't. I always knew they had a good team and would thaw from their cold streak. I thank Clemson for allowing Boise to move up in the polls too. Nice job, fellas!
6) Wisconsin made a nice comeback but didn't cover the 9 point spread (dammit). I couldn't understand why the bookies made Wisconsin the favorites by 9 points to start with. Wasn't Michigan State ranked above them in the polls? Strange. Anyway, happy Wisconsin won.
Well, onwards to the bowl games. Good luck to all as we wind our way down!
