Nice work on 'fudging' the Neurontin studies.
Nice work on all of the off label crimes you have been involved in.
Nice work in having ANOTHER corporate integrity agreement.
Nice work in being the only 4 time offender in one decade according to the Dept. of Justice.
Way to go Pfizer!
You have truly, truly earned it!
Never saw a company work so hard for a well deserved reputation.
Congratulations!

Well said! These guys are supposed to create thousands of jobs, develop new drugs etc in return for more government incentives like patent extension from original 17yrs to now 20 yrs, big R&D tax benefits all this they were provided on a silver platter by the pro business Repupblicans for past 8 yrs BUT instead we get thousands of lay offs, no new drugs, fudged data (thank god for the law suit otherwise this would have been hidden), pocketing billions by the management...........Well done Big Pharma!!!

Its time that we allow imporation of drugs from Canada......enough ripping off Americans and prosecute criminals like Pfizer!!

Let's start with the criminals on the Board. Never has more lying, stealing, cheating been accomplished in a short period of time in the company's history. The blame starts at the top.
There needs to be criminal charges brought up on everyone involved in this mass cheating of the American public. We go to the doctor trusting them to do whats right for us, but how can we know that they have not been influenced by skewed studies. There should be a public outcry for justice.

I am a former Pfizer rep and looking back, I can remember all of the "spin" the company would put on the bad news that was constantly coming out about off-label promotion, incorrect information in studies etc. Now, without the blue haze of a paycheck coming to me, it is easy for me to see how corrupt this company is. They continue to promote off-label (Lyrica to orthos) and it is just a matter of time before they pay another enormous fine.

The sad thing is that they have put so many people on the unemployment line in the last 4 years. When I was hired, Pfizer was the biggest self promoter about how great they were. They said that they are the best pharma company in the world with the best pipeline and other employers would love to have Pfizer reps. What a load of crap!

Tell me more about the off lable promotions of Lyrica......

Sorry boys & girls, but off label promotion is a phony, trumped up, government contrived crime.
If there's credible data in the literature & scripts are the common medical stamdard, then the FDA is just an albatross.

If there's no literature & you promote your product, that's a crime.

Sorry charlie, we don't even promote lyrica to orthos. It was halted about 2 years ago.

Why no outrage over the MCOs actually forcing/promoting generics off-label on just about every disorder out there??????

Where's the outrage, occutards? You invented this stupid law, but I guess you only hate on pharma that creates new drugs to further aid people.

Do not listen to this advice. You are not to lead discussions on any off lable study or promote off lable uses. If a physican asks, you know the proper channels. An off lable study or use, may not be Discussed to a healthcare provider, etc. by any representative of Pfizer.

Whistle Blowers are Everywhere.

We have no right to be angry at attorneys

I hear an ambulance siren, better go chase it...
Look, if we're going to be arrogant (and unethical) enough to pull moves like changing endpoints mid-stream, suppressing data that clearly show major AEs, and promoting people that made up and distributed Bextra protocols for indications the FDA denied, we deserve to get smacked around.

In my view we have no right to be pissed that some attorneys want to make some money off of our idiocy and arrogance.

Back under your bridge, Troll. Stop using the word "we", unless you are talking about what you slurp out of the bus station toilet every morning on your way to the public library to troll on free internet-connected PCs.

I give you Exhibit A of a typical Pfizer sales rep response: name calling and (juvenile) potty insults. Not too longer we were loaded with science majors, nurses and PA, Junior military officers and a whole bunch of West Pointers. NOW, look at this mess we have representing our company

Listen idiot, say something intelligent or go away. You disagree with a poster? Fine, state your case and move on. We wonder why other industries point their fingers at us and laugh at our pathetic resumes? This behavior is why.

Idiot.

Exhibit B: You are the pot calling the kettle black, i.e., "IDIOT" (your name calling word)

As to the argument at hand, the employees today are paying for the transgressions of a few past or maybe even present employees.

Why Pfizer does not sue the shit out of the transgressors to recoup some of the losses and set a real example of accountability is beyond me?

My opinion is that if they were truly serious about compliance, they would not only terminate the guilty employees but sue them into oblivion. That would be the only valuable deterrent.

Even other potential employers would blacklist you if you had a civil judgment for millions of dollars on your head for your unlawful employment activities.

Until then, it's just another political kabuki dance and fake accountability posturing act.

I liken it to college football. Every time a player violates the ncaa's draconion rules, ONLY the school and fellow players pay for it. So for example, USC should have sued Reggie Bush back into the stoneages and he'd need welfare to cover his needs even while still playing in the NFL.

My guess why Pfizer didn't sue the reps for this behavior is because they or the managers promoted it. (as in the Bextra case)

When quotas get increased beyond the actual scope of the market potential it makes stupid people do, stupid things. But from the suits I see now, the representatives are getting fined, put in Jail or put on probation.

Wouldn't things be so much peaceful if these companies were Private rather than Public?

Managers and executives are liable to the shareholders, i.e. the Pfizer entity. Pfizer could sue any employee for transgressions, unless the shareholders specifically approved of such misconduct.

Private vs public? No, the laws and regulations are out of control. No other industry is so overregulated except for maybe oil and nuke power.

Think about this one. Every single rep in pharma is a felon. Yes a felon. Everytime you touch another company's sample, even if just to move it, without the doctor's explicit permission is a technical felony.

The list goes on as to idiotic laws, but the message is that it's impossible to follow all of the laws and conduct valuable business transactions in this country. All it takes is for the government to decide as to whom and when they want to persecute under this evil umbrella.

So, keep complaining about pfizer instead of the rightful evil, your lawmakers and law enforcement. We gave them the powers to be abused. Wow are they good at it, especially this administration. Can I have another executive order amen???

Boy I miss the good old days!

Golf with our customers, parties for their families, spouses at dinners, fly away programs to the bahamas, etc. The Reagan Years were especially wonderful!
Come to think of it our business really helped kept the economy going. Golf courses were at their peak , restraunts, companies that made pens, mugs, etc.

I can understand the evils of "off label marketing" but gosh just give us back the other stuff!

Oh so true. the board should have sued Kindler & co. He was the compliance officer, then ceo when this all took place.
So the board did the next best thing...gave him a MULTI million dollar pkg to leave.
Crime doesnt pay?

I doubt that the Compliance Officer or CEO directed people to sell off label.

My opinion (for what ever it's worth) is that you tread on murky waters if you personally sue or get rid of the CEO. I think the right measures were taken. Even though it's a drop in the bucket for the company, it's the stigma and reputation that stings.

But when it comes to CEO getting "Golden Parachutes", that's another study, especially if the stock performance is bad.

Well put, but I take issue with the "transgressions of a few" comment. I was here during the so-called glory years. It was more than just a few, believe me. It was a pandemic. Detailing off label was SOP for so many people that it was expected. Thats what that Dept of OIG report seemed to show. At least that's what this Mary person tried to say: everyone knew what she was doing, and her supervisors all the way up to the head honcho applauded her efforts.

Why do you think we paid out so many big fines for Bextra, Neurontin, Zyvox, Aricept, and Geodon? Because of the acts of a few? Hardly. And to your last point: how are you going to sue all of those SVPs and RMs and ARMs, DMs, and training managers without causing utter chaos? I'll be the first to admit it: we deserve a lot of the heat that is falling on our shoulders. We did this crap to ourselves, and our arrogance from the late 90s to about 2007 or so is coming back to bite us.

Easy, Pfizer has billions of dollars to sue every single one if they choose. However, they should sue the generals and officers, not the grunts who were given illegal orders. That's common sense. You pick your battles. Plus, what chaos? They no longer work for Pfizer and should have been terminated. The ones following orders will remain and testify against the evil ex-leaders. The press would eat that up since they hate the 1%ers and always take the side of the poor proletariat. (sarcasm included on purpose)

As for the pp who thinks it's bad public relations to sue the shit out of the criminals within its ranks, truly has his priorities/morals ass backwards. It's that way of thinking that got us here. Someone needs to put their foot down and stop the madness, in Pfizer, and especially D.C.

It's a simple formula, "just do the right thing, and hold people truly accountable".

I heard somewhere once, "Mercy to the guilty, is just more cruelty to the victim".
