Was Edarbi worth it? Lost all of our best reps to Novo

Because of Edarbi. Do you think Takeda leadership will ever recognize they destroyed their diabetes sales force with Edarbi. Once these top performing Actos reps were handed with Edarbi in their bag mix, they bolted to Novo. Now we are stuck with a bunch of reps with no experience in diabetes launching Oseni. Who will be held accountable at the top, for such an ignorant business decision to even launch Edarbi. Releasing Edarbi to Arbor is validation senior management knows Edarbi is a mistake.

All the investments, money, time, people, that Takeda put into their diabetes franchise is now being utilized at Novo Nordisk. Way to be a good steward of shareholder wealthier Mr Cole and company.

All the crap reps are still at Takeda. They are the ones that don't have the interview skills or the resume to get out of this shithole. The good reps were let go in layoffs because of their high base salaries, and the remaining good reps left to Novo and Ironwood when they got the chance and few others went to other companies/industries. The bottom of the barrel is all the is left.

So the best reps that Takeda had, as you claim, couldn't launch Edarbi and left to novo of IW but the shit reps stayed. Funny how these shit reps that are launching Nesina (not just Oseni, that's because the shit reps that were here started to give up when the selling of Actos wasn't "what dose of actoplusmet would you like") are killing it right now. If I get ZERO scripts the next month and a half, I am already making over 10k just for Nesina (50% of my IC). I am very happy I didn't run when things got hard. Plus if I want to go to novo, I can.

Nice try, but you are not making 10K on Nesina. The bonus is more or less capped at 300% of goal or about 8K. After that, you basically get pennies for every Rx over 300% of goal. Keep dreaming. Do you even sell this product?

Who said I was at 300%??? Have you looked at the NLR? The top team is at 650% which is over 10k. And if you don't know how to figure this out, you are barking up the wrong tree. Plus with my Uloric and colcrys numbers, I am looking at 15k-17k. Do you even work here???

NEWSFLASH!! Your reasoning above is flawed. Takeda hasn't had a successful launch in close to a decade, so... Management set the initial goals for Nesina EXTREMELY low. They know that even if the co comes in at 800% to goal on the initial goals set we still have to bend the trend line huge. The thinking was to keep a carrot in front of us lemmings to keep pushing the drug. They "learned" from the EDARBI launch. Sad thing is, doc's don't want this drug either and see absolutely no benefit. SO now, we will get paid a fair amount of money if we get 7 TRx's of Nesina & family, but the launch will still be a miserable failure except for us getting paid a bunch of bonus to get a handful of Rx's. That's really intelligent management and corporate strategy. Don't you think?

So glad I am either competing against you here at Takeda or you are at novo. Either way, it's win win for my partner and I.

Basically it doesn't matter what the company comes in at or how many reps make a ton of money, this launch will never be consider successful because novo reps say it won't.

Give us one year and this will be second in class but won't come close to Januvias market share. Edarbi reps had the same set up as us but didn't do well. If you launched edarbi and got 25 scripts 1st qrt, you made money. If you got 75-150, which is what the top reps are now, you would be killing it. So I will take my cash and most likely trip to HI.

Hey Idiot did you not read the bonus plan for the Nesina family

100% of goal = 100% bonus
200% of Goal = 200% bonus
300% of goal = 300% bonus
400% of goal = 310% bonus
500% of Goal = 320% bonus
every extra 100% of goal = 10 % more bonus

You really should read the bonus plan so you do not screw up your future goals

And 320% of target earnings is $9200. Top rep is at 921% for a payout of $10,411 with 6 weeks left and that's only 50% of there bonus plan. And let me give you the breakdown in pay for your numbers 100%-$2875....200%-$5750.....300%-$8625.....400%-$8912....500%-9200......

So yes you are an idiot to say that there is no way that I will make 10k from Nesina especially if you work here the info is in front of your face. Sorry you couldn't launch Edarbi.

There are about 5-6 replies calling BS on your post, regarding you comments on bonuses.

Here's what happened to me and many others that ended up at Novo. Many of us did not even launch Edarbi, we were given this drug after the Jan 12 RIF. The rep that launched Edarbi in my old territory did great in the beginning. Even though the rep in my territory, that kaunched Edarbi, did great; they were cut during the RIF. Then I pick up unreasonable goals for the quarter, like 135 scripts while my peers I competed against only had goals of 15-20 scripts. This easily became a 15k a year pay cut for me, completely unreasonable goals for a launch I had nothing to do with and the great rep that launched Edarbi was RIF'd. I didn't run when things got tough, I left because the once great company I worked for no longer made logical business decisions, I was Takeda legacy, part of the original Actos launch team. I won 6 Cressets while I was there. I do not agree with the OP that only the crap reps are left at Takeda, but either you have not had to experience the unreasonable bag mix change ( and watching your top performing partner get RIF'd) I did, or you somehow don't mind getting abused that way and taking pay cuts due to the most illogical business decisions being made up top. PBR had me selling everything Takeda had in a few short years, this Takeda legacy killed it with Dex and Ami..BTW. Novo is not the holy grail others make it out to be on here. But I do make more money, I'm back in a real diabetes franchise, the company is still growing like crazy and a RIF is the last thing anyone is thinking right now. Yes, it is big pharma, but they aren't playing games with my income like Takeda did. So rather than sit by while my income was dropping, due to the situation I described above, I took the job with Novo that summer to move on with my life. As I get acquainted with other Ex-Takeda reps at Novo, most left for the exact reason I did.

You WAY OVERTHINK this job!


Here's a secret: Just get the number of calls your supposed to get and don't worry. The rest takes care of itself. Make up some BS for your DM to pass on about how this detail aid is working well or how the new strategy is being well received by some of you docs and you are golden. Don't even worry about actually selling. Doing that is not rewarded here. It's actually kind of frowned upon.

Do you morons even realize that the alo launch is a float to TAK-875? Alo keeps us in the diabetes space. The company already knows alo is not going to make money. I would like to believe this time around they have different expectations than they did with edarbi.
