Wall St Analysts

Since management won't listen to us reps, I'm curious o see what wall st analysts think of this awesome plan to have NBU work with OBU.

I wonder if the analysts think this is a good plan or reeks of desperation.

That's the only way we could truly affect change....get the analysts to start asking questions/investigate

Analysts are focusing on the numbers - pure and simple. Last quarter was viewed as a miss of the numbers, the orphan market is pressured over pricing, our internal R&D productivity is a public joke, we are out of NS pretty much (save for our new super-generic 465) and the hemophilia market has little upside. So FO needs to deliver top-line and bottom-line growth. Without new products, we either increase revenues or decrease costs - neither looks good for the sales force.

Bottom line is Flem messed up... the Wallstreet journal called it after he purchased several companies with little upside... I quote the article, " for Fleming to be right a lot of very smart people have to be wrong." Flem was wrong and we are paying for it now and will pay for it in the future.

Exactly what happened.... FO thought he was smarter than all the analysts... the only reason Shire would buy some of these companies was if FO had buddies that were going to give him kick backs if he bought their unprofitable rare disease companies... don't put it past him. Look at his leaches he brings along with him no matter where he ends up. PS and KK could never get through a real interview process

I assume more layoffs coming, especially from acquired companies -otherwise it will be even more obvious FO overpayed. I bet Baxalta folks bear the brunt of this. Wouldn't it be crazy if the Board actually exercised oversight and dealt with the executives who deliver poor numbers and axe them instead of reps?

Not even a question if layoffs will occur... the question is when?? FO didn't make the mistake of overpaying once... he did it over and over. He knew he was screwed when the Abbvie deal fell through because he has no clue what he is doing... regardless he has already personally made over $100 million on our backs. It seems to me by some of his and his leaderships decisions that they want to be fired with their "golden parachutes" they can live like kings off the money we, their peasants, made for them...

FO had no business buying Baxalta. Hemophilia is a saturated market with potential game changing treatments on the near horizon. Biogen spun off its hemophilia business a few months ago and no suitors came calling. One week after Baxter split off Baxalta, FO was waiting to pounce.

Don't forget, FO is a doctor and he spent his early career in the nicu, so hes really really smart. And his upside down pyramid is revolutionary.

One question though, if we are the leaders in rare disease why is it that our sales leader, PS, has no rare disease experience.

Either get rid of Perry and his cast of rejects, or get rid of the rare disease companies you bought. The two will not succeed together
Perry has gone on a hiring spree to bring people in who know what they are doing and can hopefully run the business. Problem is, they still report to this mental midget and will catch on that they probably made a mistake. I'm surprised if they didn't ask around about him first, but then again, its all about the Benjamins.

No one currently at the higher levels in this company can save this sinking ship... they put the holes in the ship and are not even close to smart enough to plug them up

If you think rare disease is struggling now, wait until these new products come to market that studies indicate are much more advantageous than our products... the interesting thing is flem and analysts knew about these products coming to market and Flem still proceeded to overpay for companies. Maybe he does really does want to get fired as mentioned by someone above??? If I had over $100 million in my bank account I wouldn't mind getting fired... would you? Answer honestly.

You have to take into account that FO is really a sales and marketing guy, not an R&D giant or an actual physician with lots of experience. Someone noted he worked a year in the NICU and must be "smart." Ask yourself how many docs do you call on who had only one year of post-medical school training? Almost all go on to do residencies, get specialty credentials etc. So the science expertise we have apparently comes from our R&D group. We haven't invented much here in the last few years, so give credit to FO understanding we have to buy new product - but who is guiding the decisions? I honestly think FO is doing the best he can with the team he has assembled - it's just not that impressive by numbers.

You are giving FO way too much credit... being a doctor means nothing in the business world... it means you are dedicated and have book smarts. Does not translate to being a CEO or a good decision maker... you want us to give him credit for realizing he had to buy products??? I'm not a doctor or a CEO and I know that... if you don't have a pipeline with your own products you have to buy some... middle schoolers know that. Why give him credit there makes no sense? Of course that has to be the plan. The issue is paying too much for compounds and or companies that are not going to make up for the price you paid. Then issue is doing it over and over again even if you are told by smart people on the outside it isn't a good idea. Inside the company he got YES YES YES...that is FO fault as well... guess what the answer is going to be if you hire "Yes men and women" all around you and pay them a ton of money... they are going to tell you.... big shocker... YES. Great idea FO. Buy that company. You are such a genius Dr. FO. You are the best FO. While saying yes they get to watch their bank accounts grow mightily along with FO. This falls back squarely on our CEO... if you have individuals with characters like PS and KK running a division and the individuals with IQ'S like PS and KC running another division that falls back on you as CEO. FO needs to cash out and go away and take these frauds with him. Drain the swamp in Lexington...

Hmmmm... never looked at it like that before... valid points.

Interesting points... never looked at it that way before... seem valid

The several points seem to be that FO went to medical school but never did much after that in terms of research or practice, he hasn't been a business star ( look at the stock and our numbers ), and he hires weak underlings for his team. And really, we've all heard him "speak." Anyone inspired?

Not I... love being at the top of the pyramid though.
