You actually feel good about your new company? The pressure you will all feel will be so immense that the backstabbing has already begun and you do not even have a drug yet. And the company is banking on the drug doing so well that want to build 2 huge buildings in Cambridge for future R/D and manufacturing. hhahahahaahahaha Can someone tell your investors that this is not 1992 when the drug industry was thriving. Your one Hep-C drug in an a symptomatic disease state where copays are equivalent to $200-500 per month with a disease class of patients that really only care when their liver is on its last leg is not goign to change the world.

The pressure on the sales management and managed markets to drive contracts, pull through, and drive sales reps will HUGE! I se PIP's coming in 9 months. This start up has debachery written all over it! Have you picked out your furniture yet for your big new buildings?? hahahahaha

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. ended another unprofitable year in 2010 with a net loss of $754.6 million, or $3.77 per share.

The company reported fourth-quarter losses of $180.4 million, or 90 cents per share, as it spent more money to develop its hepatitis C drug telaprevir, a potential cystic fibrosis treatment and other drugs.

But Matthew Emmens, president and CEO, said the Cambridge-based company enters 2011 in a “strong financial position” as it prepares for the Food and Drug Administration approval of telaprevir. Vertex has completed the final trials for the drug and is expecting a decision in May.

“Our primary focus remains on making telaprevir available to people with hepatitis C as quickly as possible,” Emmens said in a statement. “We are encouraged that regulatory agencies in the U.S., Europe and Canada will each provide an accelerated review of telaprevir.”

Last month, Vertex signed a non-binding letter of intent for two 18-story buildings on Fan Pier. Under the terms of the deal, developer Joseph Fallon would build 1 million square feet of office and research and development space on the waterfront. Signing a lease is contingent on FDA approval of telaprevir

Anita

Don't worry about returning my call. No longer interested in managed markets at Vertex. Lack of leadership in recruitment and direction along with more that I have learned have made me realize this is a failed operation and you have not begun!

Thanks but no thanks!

This is what happens Vertex when you Whore yourself out there on every job forum out there.......and do not do it the right way.....you get your dirty laundry all over the place.

aaaaaaaaaaaahhahahahaha laughing stock and your drug is not even here yet

Oh Merck Moron....let's just wait and see what happens. Since you took over SP, your Peg share has been driven into the teens with your Merck leadership. You really think you're going to resurrect yourself now? You did NOTHING for PegIntron in the managed markets...too busy selling your other drugs and yet now you think you're going to just walk in and gain the market? Wow...like I said...let's just wait and see. Your leadership team is so impressed with your skills that your National Sales Director even questioned your abilities at the national sales meeting! I don't think the pressure is on Vertex...it's clearly on you. Merck will continue to make poor decisions in Hep C and will begin the cuts in 2012.

It is a word with a root back to debacle....it means excessive craziness, sex, scandal, orgy

It is a much more FUN word to use to describe a complete mess!

With all the hits both messages have received I think it is working!

Was this the Specialty Pharmacy Director? If that is who you are referring to, he has only been on board for 3 weeks.......no calls have gone back out on the SPP Account manager positions

There must be some major problems with new hired leaders getting along.....its a small world

What is going on over there with Managed Care? You keep firing people before they have even had drug approval? Heard Dave Delay is gone and others?

It all goes back to the washed up dick they hired from Pfizer as their VP of managed markets. One can only hope that Vertex practices the very same arrogance that the HR department has been practicing, rude and unprofessional.

I work for a former pfizer mgmd markets trainer dave milani right now. He is an ass kiss and former military guy. he couldn't stand up and go to bat for anyone. He is afraid of his own wife.

The Managed markets group here is in total disarray. They need some leadership and it is not here. Many people will not even interview here anymore for Managed Markets jobs. We need a Managed Markets Leader with Hep C experience..HELP
