The real funny part, the manager that denied the rep vacation showed up to work with the rep a total of 3 hours in an 11 month period. This was brought up to the attention of the RM from Denver. The RM responded that she would support the manager even if he did not show up to work at all!!

Totally agree. For the RM to cover up for an incompetent manager is wrong. Paying someone 300-500k in wages and benefits to stay home is simply stealing. In this case, the DM and RM are stealing from Cancer Patients! How low do you go?
If there is leadership at Genentech, these two people need to be terminated.

This was a time well past launch phase. My manager wanted to go "on the down low". I refused. I love being with my wife. I am not into tube steak.I thought you all drank your own kook-aid about everything you do being for the patient. If you re launching a new product shouldn't you cancel vacation to make sure it makes it to patients? or is the mantra just for PR, recruiting and retention purposes?
After the distribution screw job, we were informed about this site and how little respect Genentech has for Cancer Patients and Cancer Treatment Professionals. To the RM, if Nurses, Pharmacists and Physicians showed up to work for three hours in an 11 month span, patients DIE and individuals are Fired! One can only surmise that your DM friend brings no redeeming value, given that the DM does not have to show up for work at all. You are pilfering Cancer Patients for their last dime in many cases and screwing Cancer Treatment Professionals.

I'm not sure what type of job your reps do. Your reps for the most part have no formal medical education. 2 weeks of brainwashing school in California does not count as formal medical education. Your reps lack the formal medical education to do my job, you can not compare me and our medical team to your reps. To my knowledge, no state has grandfathered one Genentech rep in as a physician or pharmacist due to their brainwashing training program. How about get a formal medical education or shut the hell up, your words. We are well above the on label babble your reps provide and do not need the titilation of your reps.I'm glad that you feel so proud but how would you feel if your hospital locked you out? Your reps are only doing their jobs and have absolutely no say so in what Genentech decides to do. Instead of acting like toddlers, you should be figuring out how to partner with them to benefit your patients, which you claim are so important ... but I'm quickly questioning that claim because all you do is talk about money. You are a NP, you probably could not get admitted to Medical School or a Pharmacy School like here locally at Rutgers. At our teaching hospital, we round with Pharmacists and Pharmacist write orders. Pharmacist are involved with MTM-Medication Therapy Management and Health Outcomes Research. Our clinic, like many on the East Coast have said good bye to Genentech Reps. As one of my partners stated "having lunch with a Genentevh Rep is like having lunch with the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz, visiting with someone in search of a brain". There are many medical professionals in pharmaceutical sales; such as, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, respiratory therapists, etc. I've even met some physicians who were reps then district managers. And I can tell you this, as an ICU nurse, I have literally saved lives; can you say that while you fill prescriptions?!?

I would suggest you rant to the CEO from Genentech on why he is paying a manager 300-500k to work 3 hours in 11 months as was stated above. After the distribution scam, Physicians and Pharmacists from across the country are monitoring Genentech. Paying people to not go to work is theft from Cancer Patients and Cancer Providers. Now get into your car and deliver pizza or Jimmy Johns and do it freaky fast.
You seem to have an anger problem. I am guessing hearing the truth that the Medical Community does not need you hurts.You sound like a real douche bag and I feel sorry for any patient who has to deal with you because you rant and rave how superior you are and how much money your are losing, not one word about the patients you care so much about. Good luck with your hate fest; I've seen many people like you come and go in my career. Time will tell in the end who needs who. Oh and by the way, I'm a NP because that's what I chose to do. I didn't want to fill prescriptions all day. I wanted to actually make a difference in patient's lives and not just have ideas of grandiose like you!
