Unprofessional Recruiters

Not that I expect to hear from every company I apply to, but I applied for a PC position in a city that I live in and they wanted someone with psych experience. I thought, great in live in the city, have been in pharma long time, national awards and such and was a psych specialty rep. Naive me... never even got a call!

Sorry to hear that happened to you
but that explains alot as the same has happened to me as of a week ago.
Ventiv never calls me for anything but I thought this time they will.
Was a CNS specialty for 3yrs in area, live there, national awards everything they would want to at least TALK to me---NADA!!

I found the inVentiv recruiter I worked with to be very professional and held true to her word.
What you are not the only person applying for a position, there are hundreds applying for each job. You might think, I have psych experience, I have awards hire me I am great. But the contract might say they only want 3 years experience or whatever the criteria is and you might not fit the criteria. Many times if you have years of experience, you might be too $$$. You might say you'll take less, but chances are you'll jump ship when a higher paying job comes along. That is a huge factor why you'll get passed over.

Quintiles, Publicis and OnCall all pay lower ( with few exceptions) and give horrible car allowances.

I HAVE HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCE WITH MY QUINTILES RECRUITER. IF YOU SEND HER AN EMAIL, AS BUSY AS SHE IS AND TRAVELING AS MUCH AS SHE DOES WITH ALL THE INTERVIEWING Q IS DOING RIGHT NOW, SHE ALWAYS EMAILS ME BACK IN TIMELY MANNER. SHE RAISES THE BAR FOR ME IN HOW I WISH OTHER RECRUITERS WOULD BE. I BELIEVE SHE IS THE EXCEPTION TO THE RULE.

The recruiter I've worked with seems to get all caught up in resume and interview stuff that's not really relevant to the actual interview, there doesn't seem to be a lot if understanding about what we actually do and what's important to talk about but there's a whole lot of advice on what specifically to say during the interviews. I've been more stressed about recruiter interactions than interview interactions.
