Unprofessional Recruiters

Had phone interview. Recruiter told me to hold the first week of October open to interview for derm contract. Had plenty of derm exp and no call. OK, a__holes at Ventiv, the very reason you have a bad reputation in the industry is that you continue to lie to ppl about what you will do. Do Not call unless you are prepared to follow through. Other CSO's will continue to take business away from you. Had an offer Thursday for better than what you quoted me on phone ($80 grand). Better clean up your act!

I get e mails from Ventiv recruiters that they will be calling me to talk about a certain position that I applied for. The calls never comes. Then I e mail back the recruiters that I never heard from them. Still no response. How unprofessional.

Who can top this?

I can. Spoke to recruiter (T) about position twice. Was told I would be included in face-to-face interviews for position. Faxed in some info on my sales awards (pres club, etc) and never heard anything. Was told in conversation that contract is the way to go and that they are preparing multiple contracts with big pharma companies which never used contract forces before and that's why I shoud sign on with Ventiv. That was it and that was 4 weeks ago. Bunch of slime. Since then I have been offered a position with real company and am done with training . Stay away from this outfit. Maybe Quintiles or Publicis has more ethics.

They are and everyone who has worked with CSO'S knows that.

Has anybody had contact with this recruiter? Just looking for feedback. My suggestion is to always see if a recruiter has a profile posted on Linkedin. Then you will know exactly who you are dealing with. He does have a profile on Linkedin. He's been with Ventiv since August. He also has two years as a sales rep with Teva, big deal. He has no more than two years with another company. None of which I am familiar with. He is qualified to be pharmaceutical recruiter?
This is who makes decisions on who moves on? I've forgotten what he will ever know about selling pharmaceuticals? Where do they get these people from??? Am I missing something? Somebody, anybody respond.

This has happened to me twice. Same girl both times, SJ. I can't believe the unprofessionalism. How hard is it to send an email saying, "Never mind, already have enough candidates."

Use to work for PTS. Their recruiters are better, but still not top notch.

Agree that this company is terrible.

Not that I expect to hear from every company I apply to, but I applied for a PC position in a city that I live in and they wanted someone with psych experience. I thought, great in live in the city, have been in pharma long time, national awards and such and was a psych specialty rep. Naive me... never even got a call!

This company would not know a good rep or manager if it smacked them in the face. They keep the ones that suck and don't work and get rid of the cream of the crop. They don't want to pay for performance rather keep slackers.

I found the inVentiv recruiter I worked with to be very professional and held true to her word.
What you are not the only person applying for a position, there are hundreds applying for each job. You might think, I have psych experience, I have awards hire me I am great. But the contract might say they only want 3 years experience or whatever the criteria is and you might not fit the criteria. Many times if you have years of experience, you might be too $$$. You might say you'll take less, but chances are you'll jump ship when a higher paying job comes along. That is a huge factor why you'll get passed over.

Quintiles, Publicis and OnCall all pay lower ( with few exceptions) and give horrible car allowances.
