Obviously you don't understand United Way costs and the very limited dollars that actually reach people in need.

This is very true! UW has very few dollars that actually to the the people in need. That's why I don't contribute. I agree with the posters here, I feel very strong armed and almost harassed to contribute. I personally donate a fair amount to charity every year, but it's on my own...I feel it's irresponsible for Novartis to demand and place this kind of pressure to donate.
 


















If you think that giving to United Way will help you keep your job, you are mistaken. I gave last year, received a pat on the back, and then was laid off. It will not mean "squat" if that is your motivation.

On the other hand, if you want to give because you think it is a good cause, then by all means, go for it. Just make sure you aren't doing it with the motivation to keep your job, because it will not help! I could actually now use some of that money I gave last year.

I would not give to any origanization that directly or indirectly supports Planned Parenthood. In this case UW supports PP indirectly. The monster that founded PP, Margaret Sanger, had a goal of "racial purification" through abortion. No thank you.

I give directly to PP because abortion prevent welfare babies. Welfare babies increase my taxes. PP supplies condoms which stop HIV. Definitely a worthwhile charity

Yup. I believe the book "Freakonomics," alludes to that: abortions ultimately saved society money. There was a direct correlation between crime and abortions in economically depressed/high crime areas; more abortions resulted in less crime/welfare in these historically bad areas. When abortions were outlawed or dificult to get, fewer abortions resulted and crime/welfare went up.

Now only if the Pedophilia Church would allow their brain washed minions to use birth control.
