WTF! Who else feels this "voluntary" contribution to the United Way is f'n WRONG. I hate being told what to do by this f'n co. Yeah, yeah, leave go work else where, but elsewhere seems to be disappearing.

Is the co having to do this because idiots got caught off label & all the other good stuff? So we peons get punished & management determines United Way is the way to salvation?

I wonder how the attorneys who put the smack dow on the upper r*****s would feel about this. Gotta love all the communication about GIVE it's voluntary, but were tracking, and really want 100% participation. This has to be a violation of some Federa/State laws?

FU Joe Jimenez. Go jump off a bridge & die. Plz take the lemming management with you too, when do this sacrifice to pay for your's & the co's sins.

Settle down, francis. No one is gonna force you to contribute to the United Way. You can be a tight wad if you want to and no one will say a word to you.

I feel the same way. When I saw the 100% participation goal, I decided to not contribute.
 






This is so micromanaged. Just because we don't give to UW doesn't mean we aren't contributing in another private manner. Shame on them for pressuring everyone. So typical.
 












Just for spite don't sign up to contribute. This is just another contest to see which region has the highest % of people sign up to contribute. Let them show from the regional level on up what % of people give and how much do they give.

This is true. It's a contest. I remember one year when the pressure was on us to contribute, all the voicemails begging us to give. Then, when the campaign was over, MR. KELLY PRATHER, (biggest bs'r ever!), won, for the most amount contributed from his region. One should give because they WANT TO, NOT BECAUSE THEY'RE BEING STRONG-ARMED INTO DO SO!
 






Many, many companies do this for United Way. I personally do not contribute to them because they are not a well run charity, have administrative costs that are too high, and don't do a darned thing for my local area. Every company makes a great show of trying to increase participation but I have never been penalized for not participating.
 






why don't the Nazis give to the Red Cross? way better use of the blood money than the "Wrong Way."

isn't all this contribution pressure due to the whole CIA crap?

is there are sales force in Jamaica? Can someone reachout to our colleagues man, and get a boatload of voodoo dolls, water pipe(s), and some Ziggy Marley canabis, to be sent in the next ever so wasetfull weekly mailer. now this would be the best weekly mailer ever. higher than a kite while putting a curse on the nimrods of management.
 






Grow up people,

The company is covering all admin costs so all the money goes to the agency of your choice. Take a look at the United Way Agency List, if you can not find an organization you like, then you have problems. Buck up and give $25, with the company match the organization of your choice gets $50. If you are working for this company right now you are in a position to help someone. Take a look in the mirror and do the right thing instead of whinning!

United Way supports Planned Parenthood so if you are pro-life, you may want to contribute elsewhere.
 






They also support thousands of other organizations, that is the idea, the money goes to the agency you direct it to! Again take a look at the Agency List! You can direct exactly where the money goes. I could not believe some of the choices but that is a good thing. What I deem a worthy cause you may not. So again, take the time, go the website and search the Agency List. I will bet you can find at least some cause you support.

When they get the bonus payouts correct, I will contribute. The reason they match the contribution is because the need to spend the money that is owed to the field
 






I didn't give for years for the same reason others have stated, then I realized that's just dumb. We do pay admin costs, you can choose the charity of choice and you literally never feel the pinch. It's easy, go ahead and and donate, lots of worthy causes out there.
 












I never contribute...I am convinced upper mgt gets kickbacks...why else would they care? Upper mgt could care less about their people...and we are to believe they are chartitable for those they cannot see or interact with? Please! Kickbacks...I would bet my hard earned 401k on it...
