Typical Novartis

You know we need 6 targeted calls a day. Fine. You got it.

The stupidity is that if you take half a day off, or inclement weather makes you get out a few hours late, you still need 6 targeted calls, or your call average will suffer.

Other companies I worked for- half a day means half the targeted calls required.

Dude just make up fake calls. They want 6 a day they get six a day fuck them. You think a doc remembers when you come in.

“Work a full day in the field” and even if you work a half day, you still need to work a full day. Very typical Novartis.

there’s no point in taking a 1/2 day for any thing other than conserving vacation time. You are punished by metrics for trying to get some work in during weather, sick days, etc.

People be careful - they are actively looking at veeva and certain things like several days worth of unsampled calls will surely set off bells when some managers. It’s so sad that our leaders distrust us so much but they do.

This is so demoralizing and demotivating. I’m finding myself working less and less the more they micromanage me. When the point was sales, my competitive spirit was fired up. Now that it’s just trying to stay on the middle of every report, I just don’t care.

In Oncology we don't sample. Maybe they will track us with our new phones or the Tesla. Let them then we will all be fired.

Leqvio reps don’t sample either. Just because you have left a sample somewhere… doesn’t mean you are accomplishing anything or moving the market. What a stupid way to think.

Onco/rare disease shouldn’t be held to metrics at all as far as call averages go. Agree the tracking may be with the new phones. Mine will be in the off
position for most of the day. I will turn it on a few times a day to check messages

that’s a good idea…keep it off, or turn off any location services, etc.

I don’t, Novartis does. Wrong know any rep who thinks this incessant weekly sample dropping on the same handful of offices every week is having any positive effect on sales, but that’s what Novartis is requiring of us.

Thank you for your honesty. AI will be taking over pharma marketing/sales in the near future. Good luck at Olive Garden loser rep.

Skippy i have been doing this job for 25 years. Will be retiring next year with 3 million in my 401k. A loser like you we be gone from this industry in 3 years with AI. Now go make me some garlic rolls.

they don’t monitor your sample signatures. Metrics are for calls per day. Your job is to sell and move the business.. not make your mission to obtain a signature. So the above post is really stupid.. novartis is not “requiring” that from you. You are the problem in dumbing down this job.

Apparently you aren’t a rep or you would know the goal is six TARGETED calls per day and Novartis supplies the outdated target list, with approximately half being dead, retired, moved (yes, I do PAIs, but Novartis brings them back or finds new ones), or no see. The other half that you can see are all in the same handful of offices, so you have to ration the Entresto samples to justify being in their office every week so you can have a chance at six targeted calls per day.
If you have a manager who sees how counterproductive this is, you are lucky. I don’t.

exactly. Which is why I asked the poster how many targets they have. I have a place with 24 targets. Kid you not. I can see 1-2 max a week. Going back three times a week would not be option. So..
