Turning us into Merial

Need to move on with regard to whether someone has a background in animal health or in the human health industry. There are talented people with backgrounds in both but with big pharma changing its business model and reducing headcount there are simply a significant number of people looking for careers in which their skills are transferrable and animal health is one option for them. As Virbac continues to expand, hiring people with a variety of backgrounds should be a good thing for everyone. No organization is perfect. Count your blessings that you are part of one that is focused on growth in a time where many are continuing to look for ways to do more with less.

DeMotivating a salesforce is done when a employer never promotes from within or learns how to retain employees.
You are wrong. Human Pharma managers does not translate to quality Veterinary sales managers. I put in a inquiry to be promoted within the last round. Was not even given a phone call. Even though I have years of management experience from a previous employer. Virbac has shown tenured employees a lack of respect. What are you human managers doing here? Training us on our products? Motivating? How can you do this with absolutely no industry relationships or experience?

"I put in a inquiry to be promoted within the last round. Was not even given a phone call."

Is that how things work at Virbac? You put in "an inquiry for a promotion" and hope for the best?

I am a new territory sales manager and recently completed all deep dive.
Even though I did come from human pharma, and have been with Virbac less than 1 year.
I now know that I know everything about this industry anyways selling the science is unnecessary.
I also was be promoted within 1 year.
If you actually read this post please note the grammatical errors. If this is an example of someone from human pharma it is pretty sad. Unfortunately hiring people from human pharma is "hot" right now. Why not hire human doctors to be veterinarians?????????????? Seems the same to me.

Need to move on. You are just upset that you were not allowed 1 interview when NEW regional managers were hired in the NE,SE,MW, Mtn W, W and Canada. Do you actually believe that there was 1 potential candidate amongst any?
Thank you for building a organization and sacraficing your career avancement hopes and dreams.

If this is true (your promotion within a year) then that only shows how big a problem there is, going on. For as good as you are claiming to be, there is no way you can pick all of this business up in one year. This kind of attitude that you are walking around with is only going to do you more harm than good.

Riddle me this BatDiverter.
Tampa Bay along with Miami Florida and San Fran, diversion are out of control at this point. How is someone without a diverter supposed to meet an average when they pull the average up so far? 90% of territory is now OTC

I have a telephone screen interview coming up with this firm.
I also have a question. Does this company value long term succesful relationships both internal and external?
Yes? Or No?

Lots of good sales reps would make terrible managers. While a skilled salesperson can reach their personal sales goals that same person could be terrible at leading a team. Human Pharma tends to attract the better reps and leaders. So it stands to reason that Virbac would want to hire good leaders from Human Pharma if they are able to do so. I think a few reps here are just pissed that Virbac decided to upgrade their talent rather then promote a mediocre leader based on years of service. In fact, why do you think Virbac looked to hire from the outside in the first place? Do you feel they dislike you personally and would rather spend more money to hire from the outside rather then promote you. Yeah, that's a likely story.

DSR here- What proof is there that "Human Pharma tends to attract the better reps and leaders"? Oh wait...there is none. From what I have seen "Human Pharma" reps may be
paid more, and are great waiters and waitresses, but for true sales Animal Pharma is where you really have to know what your talking about. And since you may not be able to comprehend why, I'll explain it to you. Animal Health Reps have relationships that go beyond taking a food order and bringing donuts. We actually have to opportunity to have discussions with doctors. Versus you, who know how to bring in food and hand out pens and detail pieces.

"GASP" heard in Ft. Worth and Virbac. Please keep this to yourself Butler Salesman. We here @ Virbac are taught and told otherwise. Only human phama people are qualified to be managers and attend National meetings.
