You make valid points. My point is simple and true: SELLING MOST PHARMACEUTICALS is not really selling, be it short sales cycle (unlike devices and disposables); contracts ( I handled hospital and health system contracts), consultative (e.g. complex disease state / pharmacologic management in contrast to package insert selling today). It is more of a loose, long cycle marketing driven, intangible selling that often is relationship driven, known data driven and even patient driven. The impact of a typical Pharma rep and Pharma manager today, 2020 is the lowest it's ever been.
 




Calm down everyone. Sure things may get tighter but AZ is doing the right thing so far. Stay positive, hope for the best and just do your part. AZ can’t control the world events. If layoffs happens let’s deal wirh it professionally. AZ is doing all they can to maintain us. Let’s do Our part to the best of our abilities. Yeah right AZ lives and breathes just to "maintain us." AZ couldn't give a shit about reps and what they need. I remember when good people in the bottom 20% got fired. Most had shit formulary coverage. If anyone should have been fired it was the account director. AZ is a profit making machine that lives for the stockholders. Get your head out of your ass and understand this business is dead for many reasons. Those of us prepared will do fine. Those that didn't prepare are well F*cked. Reps bring in about 5%-7% of revenue. Most of the business is driven by the agreements. The drug has already been purchased, unless it is rare, before you speak to a practitioner. You are only around to drive demand.
