To the newly acquired and recently hired

Welcome to takeda. The company that brags about being over 270 years old but hasn’t come up with a novel idea in a decade. The company that says they want to hear your input and what isn’t working, but really means shut the hell up or leave. The company know for being sub par vs other companies in the industry (ESPP, medical benefits, longevity recognition, 401k match, on and on). The company who tells people to uproot their entire lives and move to Boston so they can look like they are in the cool club without thinking about cost or retaining talent. The company who tells you that fleet decision was based on carbon emissions and not cost, despite taking away Mercedes from employees which have the best emission rates out there and not offering electric cars as an option. The company recruiters hate to try and fill positions for because their reputation is so bad. The company who knows nothing about rare disease but just spent billions getting into the market without having any idea how to run it. The company where you are nothing but a number.

Do what legacy takeda does-the minimum. You will not be rewarded for excellence, not like other companies. Just sit there and smile and clap. Say great idea when asked and try and stay under the radar while looking for a better job. Oh sure, we love the takeda values. They are great.

Yes, but you are forgetting that Takeda has a secret weapon. Mark Gimbert. He invented pharmaceuticals (check Cafepharma thread ... it’s true). Mark is a school teacher who cheated his way up the corporate ladder.
