Thx Cadence: Best salary, Best bonus, Best QOL

I made my best year in 2011 with Cadence. I also worked harder than ever. Cadence is paying top 1% paying salaries and the bonus opportunity has always offered substantial earnings. I made in one quarter with Cadence what I used to make in 3 quarters at my last company. Sure it's tough, but with so much $$$$$ potential for us reps, it's probably the best place to work in my opinion. Not the easiest drug to sell, but the best place to earn a lot of money. After talking with my former colleagues, I too was reminded how nice it's been not taking HR electronic exams or product tests every week. Not to mention we don't have QTQ reports, samples, or all the other busy work. Take all that away and I think we have the best quality of business life too.

Thank You Cadence

Funny.....but I too agree with OP. You have to admit, even those of us who did not do as well have a huge chance to get big money in Q1. I dont see this at other companies. Some already are getting $5 vials with weeks left to keep racking up commissions.

Yeah, it's great. Folks that didnt sell anything in Q4 are now ranked at the top and earning considerably more than the revenue they are bringing in. Makes perfect sense. Corporate welfare at its finest.

You're right, it's management; it's their way of posting something positive to show that some reps are actually happy; it backfired because we can all read through it! yes, I make a good salary; it stops there; my environment is demeaning, demoralizing, and provides absolutely no motivation to sell; I hardly made a bonus at all last year; great product that pharmacy is strongly resisting; help us out rather than blaming us.

Couldn't have said it better myself! This job is so demoralizing.

When 20% of people can sell this drug, there are 80% who can talk negative. About only 20% are posting negative on CP. The rest are out working....not afraid to hear no....trying to beat pharmacy....and earning their top salary & big bonuses. Did you always have drugs that sold themselves? This is a great drug with obstacles. It's a good test for all of us.

I agree with the frustration of bottom performers raking it in during Q1 over top proven performers. However, it's a great way to get CP posters off the computer and back to work. It's about the company.

I'm the top rep in my district and am currently 'raking it in' in q1. Tracking at $9,000 for the quarter. We were told that $12 k per quarter would be the average bonus when we were hired. Clearly Cadence has successfully managed your expectation down. Huge bonus's were the reason we all came over here and gave up the gold plated benefits, 401k match, and other perks. Mr. Harvard's sales projection debacle killed our 2011 bonus's. So how do they make it up to us? Growth only bonus payments. Some of us in the top 15% are only going to stick around so long when these quota's become unmanageable. Cadence, you need to figure out a way to keep the top producers.

Somewhere in the vicinity of this video the above post was contrived:

Many of last years performers are on top again: boy from Lubbock, NYC, etc. The plan rewards everyone who can sell. Some people are never happy.

Good points about initial Cadence earning potential. You are absolutely right. Minus the big company benefits like 401k, we are not getting ahead even with the big salaries and bonus potential. Curious though, is anyone getting ahead in pharmaceuticals? Our industry is at an all time low. Each of us are always looking for the next career move hoping to find that long term position. But for most of us here, we took the Cadence job knowing there was no 401k, but thinking there was bigger earning potential.

The real stress is: It's scary not knowing if you are going to have a job or not in an industry where it's harder and harder to land that long term position.
