• Make it like cafepharma, but for different industries: over the years we’ve had suggestions for creating a site similar to cafepharma, but for different industries. Now there is a place. Check out CompanyUnderground for company forums in other industries. Don’t see a company? Request it here. Let your friends and family outside the pharma/medical sales space know they now have a safe, anonymous place to talk.

THIS COMPANY IS DOOMED

I think we fit in quite. Sorry, I dont quite see the difference; "Biotech" SOUNDS sexier than "Pharma", but outside of research there is absolutely no difference. There is absolutely no difference in commercial operations (sales, marketing, etc). At the rep level, really no difference at all. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the difference is semantics only! Sorry!

The Roche Group, along with 2 mafia families who own her, will be bought out by Novartis, another Swiss Euro Mob Company.

As far as the drugs, none of the drugs work. Do you actually believe clinical trials?

Not possible for novartis to buy! Roche just as likely to buy them? The Novartis talk has been going on for years, only becuase they are in the same town.

Novartis can now buy Roche after the decision by Maja Oeri earlier this year to pull her 5% share out of the family voting block which takes the families share down to 45.01% from 51%, no longer a majority.

Novartis already owns 33.3% and if they buy .1% more of Roche stock under Swiss law they would have to make an offer for the whole company. This will get very interesting in the future. I am sure the Swiss govt would love to have a tie-up rather than either company to be aquired by someone else.

There was a rumor I could not confirm that Maja Hoffmann was also doing the same thing with her 5%. If so, that would definitely signal a fracture in the family and the voting block which could create an opening for Novartis.

Strange they are breaking off now, since the agreement to vote together as a family block was put in place in 1948. I think something is up.....

Novartis own 33% of the VOTING stock; Roche has two classes of stock. The capital structure of Roche makes it virtually impossible for their to be a takeover, without the consent of roche. A hostile takeover is simply not possible! So , just forget about it and go back to work.

We can only hope and pray Novartis ould buy Roche.. these Genentech fools will run the company into the ground.

just saying

I agree it would be tough but you are wrong, it is now possible. It was not possible before this move.

Notice the article uses the term "committed" over and over. Only time will tell how "committed" all the family members are to continue to vote together. Both Maja Oeri and Maja Hoffmann will most likely bolt completely in the next few years and concentrate on their other interests, the arts and humanities.

Why would Novartis waste their money to buy us?

There are too many yes men from Genetech in charge who are well in the process of running us into the ground.

Dust up your resume's...the payout might be ok, but wont last long in the current job market.
