They Lied, They Screwed Us, and I'm Tired of "That's Just the Way It Is"...

Seagen holdover, here.
I listened to my boss, the Oncology leadership, and actually believed that Pfizer wanted change.
They certainly were right- only it's a change for the WORSE.
They took our cars, took our money, took our bonuses, and took our titles. Then they threw us in "collaborative" groups of completely useless people who all want to simply exploit the relationships that I have worked years to develop...
I swear that there is not a single person I've met in my entire state that could hold a candle to the worst salesperson from Seagen.

Most of my peers from Seagen are gone. All are extremely happy that they did so.
I committed because I "believed" what they said.
How sad is it that almost every SOAS I talk to is fearful of their job?
How sad is it that the people that have been at Pfizer for a decade or more are just trying to make it to the "Golden Number" so that they can leave???

My advice to anyone thinking of working at Pfizer is DO NOT. Don't think this is a "stepping stone." It's not.
The attitude here is VERY CLEAR- "There are people lined up to take your job, and we have no problem hiring someone cheaper than you."
Leadership sucks, the company sucks, the stock sucks, the "new" pay system sucks, and I have to defend myself from a lot of my friends who believe that Pfizer hurt more people than they helped with the COVID vaccination...
For the first time in a long time I will be looking in the job market.

Said every person who moved to Pfizer from Upjohn, Parke-Davis, Wyeth and many others. Be sure to stick around for a couple more years so you can get the full “acquired by Pfizer” experience. You don’t want to miss a succession of “developing Pfizer leaders” from overseas or somewhere in the DEI soup who want to “work in the new Business”. Believe those of who live with it today, it’s an experience you don’t want to miss

We...are...PFIZER (copying We Are Penn State chant).

In just one post, you've captured the reality of many people from companies that Pfizer has acquired since I got here 26 years ago. In the 1999-2004 time frame, they used to arrogantly proclaim "We are going to have to Pfizer-ize you". As if that was a good thing!
Well, the parade of pedantic VPs,SVPs, marketing Director Team Leaders and C Suiters that prioritized hiring and promoting cronies, or children of colleagues over excellent external candidates has brought us to where we are. And now YOU, my Seagen holdover friend, get to see what Upjohn/Pharmacia, Parke Davis, Warner Lambert holdovers and others complained about before leaving for greener pastures.

The bottom line is that there is a reason that our stock value has been stuck in neutral for so long. We stink.

YOU NAILED IT! I have not been here as long as you, but I have certainly seen or heard what you described.

This is so true. There used to be a regional manager in the PNW named Eliza who would run reps out of the company and then replace them with all her nieces nephews and cousins. She had more family members working for Pfizer than anyone.

When I went to what was called DM training back in the day, 3 of the new managers had fathers who worked here. This was and is the Pfizer way! And we wonder why we are in our current mess.

Oh man, she was toxic as hell…phony as hell too. There are a couple more from that era (A J), that are cut from the same cloth. AJ has continued to move up the chain and has ruined many careers along the way…total “soul-less, backstabbing, fraud”

Now that’s a name from the past. A Jon$$ from SoCal? If u ever had a conversation with her, she was at Starbucks ordering another drink. Her leadership skills were legendary (but at the opposite end of the spectrum…very poor). She would show up to DM manager meetings LATE…and keep good DMs waiting to watch one of her poorly run meetings (and have to hear her “cackle” of a laugh).

When the likes of AN and EO were paraded out as “The Future Leaders”…anyone with a semblance of common sense and decency…threw up in their own mouth (and rushed to sell any stock options they had that had any value.

A fish stinks from the head…..,

Coming from the Pharmacia/Upjohn side, I was not at all impressed with the caliber of sales people from Pfizer Focused on activity and dinners vs quality calls and relationships. They threw a lot of money around but not necessarily for good business sense. I made sure I was not Pfizerized

You should have been here when legacy Parker Davis attended their first Regional Meeting with their new Pfizer RM (initials TR). Boatloads of resumes went out the next week. Horrible!
