Wholly smokes, I work in research and have been reading all these MS threads. I have no knowledge about the process but I am pissed. Pissed at HR, what a miscommunication firestorm, what do they do all day long? What a piss poor way to start a new franchise, these posts are horrific! I am not disgruntled nor do I have any ill-intent but I would like to see an internal investigation done as there were way to many back door deals made. RIF'ed Lucentis reps were given no priority and at the very least, they should have been guaranteed panel interviews.

Sorry pal, every comment on this board isn't from a disgruntled employee but many are from excellent internal and external candidates that weren't treated fairly and they are fed up with the obvious favortism. So to say that the best candidates are the ones being hired is a blatant lie.

We get it. You're from the Lucentis franchise. A franchise where many of the sales reps are tanking in performance. From their perspective it looks like you are running away from something.
A lot of these posts are simply uncalled for. However, your posting certainly does sound desperate, paranoid, and bitter. There will never be a completely flawless execution of a hiring process. For you to call one of your own teammates borderline crazy is just uncalled for and speaks volumes about you not them. You have also confirmed to everyone they are indeed looking at internal candidates in your franchise. So they certainly haven't excluded candidates from your franchise.
There could be a multitude of reasons why you weren't selected. Your DM could have said you weren't ready or right for the position or need more development in certain areas. They might feel you are not a nice person and don't get along well with your team. It could be your own manager that stopped the process. Either way, they passed on you. If you think Genentech is so unjust and unfair, it's time you look for another opportunity outside of the organization because clearly you aren't content in the franchise you are in now and will continue to complain.

I was one of the Lucentis reps let go so it would have been nice to have been given every opportunity to get an OCRE position. Yes, I might be a little bitter but don't I have the right to be? I did get let go when it could have all been prevented if they would have just waited.
