The truth, please.....

Soooooo, after a series of conference calls, all the different groups (commercial, FRMs, RAMs, GAMs, PHM/vaccine) have heard there are NO overlapping positions with AZ and there will be NO changes. My ABM has said the FRMs and RAMs, etc are in trouble and will all be sacked. Sounds fishy.

Question:

Are they just attempting to keep things going forward until March, or so????

BIZ is down about 20% and we wont make the ridiculous QUAD prebook goal.

There is definitely RAM overlap, as AZ has their own bunch calling on payers. Same person can talk issues with payer whether its a primary care drug or specialty drug, especially for a seasonal drug. FRM's are still a needed function re access issues, especially since that role was stripped away from BSS's. If you get rid of FRM's, then how do logistics issues get handled for syn? Back to third party firms again? Maybe. With due respect to FRM's, syn is a seasonal drug, so really, what do FRMs do for the other 7 months of the year? Hand out binders? Then, oddly when season starts, they visit only top volume accounts, as if smaller volume offices don't need the same hands-on. They could do so much more for everyone if they didn't have such giant geographies. Windshield time could be customer time, but good luck to FRM's, I hope they stay intact.

BSS's can't be stretched any thinner, especially with hospital responsibility on top of it all.

want truth? Here it is: everyone in field will be told business as usual, focus on day to day, bring in good Prebook and strong end of syn season, then, wham: whatever is gonna happen, will happen prob 28 hours later. Good luck to all.

There is overlap of all of the "AM" positions. MSD' s too. Marketing, HR, Training all have overlap and at risk. Sales has overlap because there are AZ Reps in the Ped offices already. FRM's, nothing similar thought here is a group kind of like those PAA's we have. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Good luck to all. And yes it does seem like they would like to keep us all working hard for now, hoping. What will be, will be.

Nobody's even sure if there will be a home office at this point, or whether we'll stay in Gburg. We might hear more in March. Lot of nervous people walking around, expect a lot of people to quit after they get their bonuses.

No one going to quit unless they have someplace else to go. Yes, some uncertainty over the next 8 weeks. I thought I had joined a unique entrepreneurial biotech sales force, yet it became big pharma, and now it's officially going to be big pharma specialty sales. Not thrilled about it, but I have a job for now, so have to roll with it, and adapt.

We're getting people applying from G'burg to Frederick like crazy. As long as I've worked at Medi it's been the other way around, especially after moving over to the big building.

can't merge the 2. Medi is pediatrics. A-Z is an oncology focus. Totally different franchises, and likely would never cross paths in field.

AZ specialty rep here. AZ has the LEAST focus on Oncology. We have a CNS specialty division selling Seroquel XR, and one selling Brilinta. Nobody actively calls on PEDS. You have a few that are Symbicort targets and that's it. You will merge with AZ specialty. It won't be good for you guys, I can promise, nor us for that matter. AZ has way too many reps, period. We are all expecting a massive layoff this year. Medi has contributed nothing to AZ, so you guys will likely be cut severely.

Thanks, but on the contrary, medi reps have been downsized twice in last 3 years, with 1 rep per territory all the way through. No room to cut more. As for contribution to AZ, medi $$ from primary product has been solid contribution, see your own AZ data on that, not the hearsay. The horror for medi reps will be if we have to start doing pods or whatever you az folks do.

With due respect brother, looks like the previous poster was pretty spot on about Onc rather than CNS. Seems Medi acct mgmt model has opened some eyes at AZ hq. Good luck to you wherever it all lands for you.
