The truth about the upcoming layoffs

Primary care getting cut down to three areas.
Highest percentage of cuts will be at the RM/DM level.
No more CSS RMs, Vic is already out of CSS gone to Humira.
CSS major cuts, majority to be rolled into Primary Care
Some remaining CSS DMs will report to Primary Care RMs
CSS reps will be incorporated into primary care teams (ALL IN) but will remain calling on CDs/Endos
New incentive plan, PC team including CSS will be paid on universe.
NQ is not getting cut as some territories are staffed only by NQ reps.
Some NQ like some Abbott will be cut depending on staffing levels per each geography.
Percent of cuts will vary across the country based off of current staffing level.
Total percent of rep cuts is not as high as eveyone thinks as numerous territories are under staffed, while others are over staffed.
Abbott is expected some voluntary leave as territories will become much larger.
Reps may live up to 60 miles or 90 minutes outside of their given territory. Distance from home geography does not apply to DMs or RMs
No idea about any type of severance package.
Solvay will also be ALL IN team structure.
Maximum 4 reps per team 2 Dyslipidmia Primary Care, 1 CSS overlapping 2-3 territories, 1 Solvay rep.
The date is set and changes to take place on the day you will be buying roses and chocolate.
Announcement,,, well lets just say it won’t be long......

You come on here and spew all this crap and don't tell us when the announcement will be. Just like all the other perpetrators!

What you're saying about territory size makes perfect sense, but the date? Come on. When have they ever had a lay off on a Monday let alone the week before we all travel to the national sales meeting. The date sounds like bs! Makes much more sense for it to go down this week, but what the hell do I know.

I'm a non-Abbott (and non-pharmaceutical) person following all this craziness. What does CSS stand for? Pardon my ignorance and good luck to all of you. You guys are going through hel*.

CSS stands for cardiovascular specialty sales. They r the reps that call on cardiologists and endos. Most primary care dislike the CSS reps and primary care DMs are the ones who egg the dicsention. CSS reps r not better or worse than the ones in primary care. The only difference is our DMs show us some respect and actually treat us like adults.

>>>This makes perfect sense. Too few reps being covered by management now

No more CSS RMs, Vic is already out of CSS gone to Humira.
>>>Still haven't heard anything on this one.

CSS major cuts, majority to be rolled into Primary Care
>>>So if there are 3, is that reduced to 2 or 1?

Some remaining CSS DMs will report to Primary Care RMs
>>>Do they then become PC DMs and not CSS DMs. In other words, no more CSS direct management?

CSS reps will be incorporated into primary care teams (ALL IN) but will remain calling on CDs/Endos
>>>Again do they retain a CSS DM/separate management?

New incentive plan, PC team including CSS will be paid on universe.
>>>back to the old way

NQ is not getting cut as some territories are staffed only by NQ reps.
Some NQ like some Abbott will be cut depending on staffing levels per each geography.
>>>Above two line up with common sense but who has that around here?

Percent of cuts will vary across the country based off of current staffing level.

Total percent of rep cuts is not as high as eveyone thinks as numerous territories are under staffed, while others are over staffed.
>>>>how about the sudden Solvay postings??

* There will not be any overlap of CSS Reps

Some remaining CSS DMs will report to Primary Care RMs
>>>Do they then become PC DMs and not CSS DMs. In other words, no more CSS direct management?

*Remaining CSS DMs will remain CSS however will report to one RM. There are 3 RMs who will have 2 CSS DMs remaining RMs will only have once CSS DM

CSS reps will be incorporated into primary care teams (ALL IN) but will remain calling on CDs/Endos
>>>Again do they retain a CSS DM/separate management?

*CSS will still have CSS DMs except for a few territories in the West where there are not enough CSS reps to have a CSS DM, those CSS reps will report to PC DM

New incentive plan, PC team including CSS will be paid on universe.

*Yes

*Solvey cannot hire, my guess they posted but those who approved postings did not have insight to what was ahead.

*Solvey reps will report to PC DMs. Solvey DMs will pick up PC Dyslipidemia reps. In other words PC and Solvey DMs will merge.

* I guess one week to align and new managers to reach out to subordinates prior to National Sales Meeting. I never said I had input I just was able to find out the facts.

Don't you think Abbott would announce DM cuts before RM/DM? I say they make announcements before managers leave for their 3 -4 day meeting.

The timing on all this still seems ALL WRONG. I can't imagine letting DMs go and then have those remaining, go to a managers meeting. And they expecting reps. to work and be productive through all this? Then Vegas - ALL IN. Yeah, right! This company has it SO WRONG.

Doesn't matter, I won't be going to Vegas, regardless! I'M OUT :)
