Actually you Genentech folks killed your company years ago as Roche owned 60% of you guys since the early 90s. Your success and coffee house slacker attitudes were funded by Roche, strange you delusional dolts never acknowledge that. Roche is laying off good people partly because of Genentech's drugs and their problems. Until last year, Genentech never had a global presence and now you do and are embarrassing yourselfs at global meetings. Wearing jeans and pretending you're just like Steve Jobs of Apple just doesn't cut it in the EU--People actually don't really care about how you view yourselves.

BY the way, I understand the superior research from the "OLD" genentech, but please, everybody knows that the commercial side of Genentech was wanting, to say the least. WELCOME TO THE ROCHE FAMILY. Roche has bamk rolled the former "genentech" for more than 20 years. Without Roche money there would not have been an avastin, or herceptin. Again, you are officially "ROCHE" now; get over it or quit!

You're absolutely correct! When I worked at Genentech the biggest concern of my fellow employees was 1) how to suck up to maximize their bonuses & stock options & 2) when was the next Ho Ho! I was so..... happy to get out of there and find a job where I now do some real productive and useful work!!!
