The problem with Biotronik

My opinion is that there is no culture of building from within. We have hired mercenaries and castoffs to try to establish our legitimacy in the US market. Dan Schlewitz was an adequate attempt to bring integrity. This company is not filled with young idealist looking to make something of themselves or the company. Instead it is filled with scared reps who ran away from product they sold and reps that were let go due to incompetency. The only passion for this company is in Portland. The reps in the field are pathetic. It will never be able to grow at potential and Max Jr. Knows this. The clock is running on you.

Here is the key to future US -- and international -- developments:

do ask yourself how many Americans are even mildly involved in any of the product development and technology decisions at the headquarters.

This is a conservatively-run German company that makes German decisions.
Maybe OK, but then, you have to wonder why this very decision process has now lead to staff reductions in their home country.

Much too little strategic international planning to assure sustainability, IMHO.

Has anyone interfaced in any significant way with your new VP? This guy has no clue and to think that Jake and Max bought his BS really says it all. No real history in industry, no substance, and no vision. He learned a couple simple recipes from MR at STJ that no longer make business sense and will run at it for a couple years until all realize he is a true joke. What has he done other than bring over a couple friends, generated no business or created any vision, and keeps investing money with no return. A couple years after being an FCR and rep, one year as a RM, and then the fast track under buddy Mike as VP of everything for a few years does not create confidence. Before that he ran a health club. Good luck!

Well he just delivered plan for Q1 on a 20% growth number of revenue...not easy to do with our industries declining ASP's so not to shabby.

As has been stated many times on many threads...the industry is dying.

Therefore, a health club manager is just as qualified as anyone to watch the ship sink.

I tip my hat to the guy. He used nepotism and bluster to suck the right butts and so he gets Pressbox Seats for the Dimming Days of Devices.

Aside from all the obvious hits you bio reps take for your business practices, it's the internal bickering that I find amusing. To rail on a manager for having a background of running health clubs before getting into this industry as if BIO isn't stacked with a bunch of clueless shallow resumes? It's just classic

You guys are a special breed. Wouldn't you all agree, that if we all got in the same room we would all be able to single out who the BIO reps were amongst competitors? I don't know what it is but there's a certain aura....no?

If we were all in the same room it WOULD be easy to single out the BIO Rep...since on a quarterly basis someone would come in a systematically RIFF the other 'suspects'.

You don't really think that this is written by anyone that works for Bio do you??? Obviously this is written by a competitor. Wood's leadership has been pretty solid so far and considerably better than any of my experiences with management at the big 3.

Keep worrying abut our management and we will keep taking care of patients and increasing market share.

I was very successful at my previous company and your openly hostile feelings towards Biotronik speaks volumes about not getting a phone call back when you wanted a job. Obviously you are an under performing flunky and can't hack it in our industry. Do us all a favor and stick your mouth on a tailpipe and go away...
