The New Ethicon

Corrupt culture, Corrupt managent. You are maintaining an account, you are not selling anything. The only thing an Ethicon representative sells is as an illusion to their management team. Management in this company is nothing short of a joke.

If you haven't already the Huffington post series on the Risperdal mess, this is a Must read. While GP isn't mentioned directly, he was as responsible as AG. And he's in charge.

One of the little known but more amazing facts is that AG was able to orchestrate these crimes while Gary's GINORMOUS head was buried up AG's arse.
 






Wtf do u mean poor mans device company? I've been in ortho & robotic sales. There's no difference. Infact more surgeons seem to respect Ethicon reps compared to intuitive and any ortho company. Friends that have left are trying to come back bc they hate there device company now. No sales job is a walk in the park & every day is a battle. The second any device company hires techs to inservice or sell products is the day that company loses share. There are miserable employees at every company, EVERY COMPANY! Covidien reps will start seeing rep layoffs when their fiscal year ends. Covidien's hernia division will be gone as well...this isn't assumption this is fact due to law suits over polyester mesh infections and a giant loss of dollar volume in products such as their new tacker which miserably failed. Medtronic is smart and is going to do a covidien "cleaning."
 






Ethicon has never been regarded as a real medical device company. The company sells commodity items that have a very low learning curve and reps are not needed. I worked for Ethicon and really needed to be in one case to teach a surgeon and staff how to use one of the products.
 






Thia place is a total joke. Unrealistic expectations for commoditized products. Most reps are charged with a 35% growth number for products that are 20 years old. Company thinks they have innovative products but really they put a new button on it and think it's a "game changer".

Since nobody currently in med device would even consider coming here, they've resorted to hiring Enterprise reps., give them a week of training and expect them to make an impact with thoracic surgeons. What a joke.

Bottom line is, stay away from this company at all costs. Unless you are desperate, I would look elsewhere. If you drink the Koolaid, there are plenty of jobs out there that will actually pay you. I'm running an $8M territory and they scoff at paying me .0002%. What other company does that? Most are paying from between 3-10% of sales with 1/10th of product responsibility.

Fuck this place, can't wait to get out when the timing is right.

So which companies are you looking at then? No one seems to be positive about ANY company in device sales on these boards.
