I'll be interviewing for a territory manager position soon. Any feedback on this position? pros? cons? thanks!
No, it's a primary care sales position...It just say's territory manager as the job title...
On a side note....are there any pros to working for this company? Any good experiences? I have heard nothing but negative things thus far.
With a reply back to your comments.
Managers like you that troll these boards trying to make the company look like something it isn't is a travesty. Your original post was right out of the Forest Manager's Handbook. Seriously, read what you wrote again, not one bad thing and using words straight out of the manager's evaluation checklist???? What, this company is all white fluffy clouds and Happiness??? You should know Reps talk, not just to counterparts, but to old training buddies, on message boards, etc. We know what is going on!!! As much as you try to clear the water, the turd keeps floating to the top!!!
lets look at my tasteless behavior. $4,000,000. How much do you think Forest saves off of running off an experienced rep? maybe on average 25k annually per rep??? Lets do the math. That's 160 reps!!!! That means that house alone would have paid the difference between each rep, 160 of them, to keep their job for one more year. 160 wives, husbands, moms, and dads, ran off. Most still trying to look for jobs in this crappy economy.
And he is not innocent, neither are you Mr Manager!!!!
gotcha, well I'm currently in a b2b role which is micromanaged the fuck out of and need a change, anyone here been with the company for a substantial part of their career? Is it worth making a change to? Is turnover high?
yeah...there are pros. You get a good paying job, with a company that has never laid off sales people (that may change but as of now its true). You get a great 401 K program, profit sharing, etc. Some people with 20 years here have close to $1MM in their 401K now, and that's with the tech bubble burst, Forest stock being slashed in half, and the market collaspe of 2008. Medical benefits are good...you also get Disability insurance. You will be expected to work, and yes, you may get a prick for a DM. But you may also get a good DM. If you come to a company for the DM or pod-mates, you are not smart...experience tells us they will change. But if you have the personal and professional maturity to work with people, to produce, to actually go out and see offices each day, and to stay on top of your admin, you will be fine. Some people like to complain a lot. They think Forest is the only company with young managers. Or that has expectations some sales people may not think are reasonable. They are the same people who jump companies every 3 or so years and then start bitching about their new boss after 6 months. so don't rely on this board for great advise, but if you are, i hope this post brings some degree of balance.
by the way....its a territory rep job. its not a manager spot
I believe he made his money by designing a program that tracks the IP Address for people that post anonymous messages on Internet sites. As for the people that you claim have been "run off" perhaps they were some of the ones that were caught by this revolutionary technology. It's unfortunate that your sorry ass has already been run off or perhaps you could have been next.Mr. Manager,
Let me say this one more time. I dont care how he pays for what! How he made his money, etc!!! He could have followed a rainbow and found and leprechaun at the end that reach in his arse and pulled out a pot of gold for him. It doesnt matter. I am making the point about how he is running off seasoned reps to pay new ones less money!!! He is running off people that need to provide for their families. I was simply pointing out, he doesnt understand what that means. From the looks of it, he could miss a paycheck or two and be fine. If you do not think he is weeding out experienced reps, you are living in a fantasyland.
As for the really old reps, the ones that have been here 20+ years, they are pretty safe. For the exact reason you said, that would be a huge lawsuit.
I suggest you go back to managing your reps and if you do it well, maybe you wont be demoted and working with them in a year or so. You have the Company Speech down pat!!!
I dont think their is a soul on this board that doesnt think you are a manager of some sort!!!!

Yes, but that was the IP yesterday when I checked. But let the manager keep adding his thoughts on here. I actually know I am getting under one managers skin, he has dropped a few hints who he thinks I am. LOL turth must hurt!!!
As for my manager friend on here, why doesnt he post his name? he has been positive about everything, why hide your identity? I mean, i know why I dont post my name, I would have my LOC and warning letter all in the same day. Until I find a job, I will continue to do my job and smile like I am the typical Forest Rep!!! Which brings up another good point! Why is it so damn hard to get a job outside of Pharma with all this dang experience? Once again, the industry is killing me. I want to leave, but cant!!!! But I know it is a lot easier to find a job, if you have one. I will do all of this extra BS planning we are having to do, I will keep getting my signatures, etc.
But the turth is already out about this company and how it treats its people!!!
