Teleflex Medical

Re: Teleflex Medical Canada

Just relax for another 6-7 months, Mills will be done finally and a new, positive era will begin at Teleflex. If the new management team is smart they will get rid of all existing management and run this business direct from the USA. Stevens still thinks he is line to be the next Canadian GM....that's a complete joke! Appoint him and half the team will resign immediately, guaranteed.

2013 cannot get here soon enough if it means we can re-boot this organization and actually find some new leadership that knows what they are doing.

Absolutely right. TFX Canada has a dismal record. The only center to hit their budget target year after year, grow into a 40 million dollar distribution, never down size and reduce staff and reward reps that actually do some work. Terrible in my eyes. Stay clear and join a less successful company. Better yet, join the other company and waste your time by bashing TFX. Then try to convince everyone that the grass is truly greener on your imagined hill.

I was bored by a long career with big med device companies so after being promised the world I reluctantly joined TFX. Huge mistake! People on this board refer to TFX as a "pretend medical device company". This is very accurate as TFX is nothing more than a glorified distributor of medical paraphernalia. A wannabe Cardinal Health, with no infrastructure, less capable management and no guiding identity in the marketplace. TFX people run around believing that hand-held surgical instruments are important, differentiated products. Not even close, instruments are now just low cost, low quality, commodity products. Purchasing people could care less about company, rep or brand....just low price. I said good riddance to TFX about one year after joining. Word to the wise, management at TFX is pitiful. Steer clear. IHOP is a much better career stop until something better comes along.

Instruments aren't necessarily low quality but agree that they are low cost, commodities in today's market. Instruments are a declining market because there is no way to keep prices up. Worse, stupid competitors that are driving down prices quicker than ever! TFX still depends on instruments for a sizable chunk of revenue......disaster in the making.

A nice post written by the Chief of Cheerleading at Teleflex! Reward reps that actually do some work? How out of touch are you? At least one manager that is still with the company instructed his reps to stay home as much as possible or to generate false receipts by sitting in a hospital cafeteria and drinking coffee for a few hours. Stevens and Schellenberg go to RTP together, golf, lounge by the pool and rent movies to pass their time. These are facts. TFX Canada is a complete joke.

Say it isn't so, a $40 million distributor.....such excitement, there goes any decent plan for a good night sleep. All this and wait, in Canada too? And they actually reward reps that "do some work.". (Sounds like they set the bar really high at Telelex Canada?)

Yes, well we haven't got the thriving economy you do in the States. Must be great to have such a booming industry. The world must really admire your economists. Let me guess, a six sigma graduate?

"Let me guess" is certainly a metaphor for this person's pathetic career. One can only hope that this genius isn't in a leadership position. Sadly this sounds a lot like the simple mediocrity you have come to expect from management at TFX Canada. It is hard not to laugh at their mantra, "do some work, but definitely not a lot, and you will be well rewarded...and we won't downsize or ever fire you!" Classic tier 3 medical company mentality.

A leadership position is something you will never be in. Only cry havoc from the sidelines, as always.

Re: Teleflex Medical Canada

I think we all know it is J. Stevens writing this nonsense. So, retarded is the correct answer.

In that case you would have to say complete narcissistic r*****! Telelex can have Mr. Stevens, great day for the competition, evn better if they are dumb enough to appoint him as the next CDN President!!!

Quite honestly I would rather see Bill Reynolds get re-hired and installed as the next Canadian GM versus Jim Stevens being in this role for twenty seconds. Here's the problem with Jim Stevens - he cannot be trusted. Period. As a result he has zero leadership ability.

Agree completely with this assessment of JS. Cannot be trusted, highly manipulative and just not that smart.

This is a great post, apparently reps get rewarded for doing SOME work! Sounds like the bar is set really high at Teleflex?

Big problem - real leaders know this company is a total waste of time. They won't go near Teleflex Medical Canada. Two choices, keep Mills or promote Stevens. Not sure which is worse? Both leaders are complete zeroes.

Your all a bit behind the times. News flash there is a new Director of Finance and OPERATIONS his name is Ron Steiner and I think his title says it all. Maybe it's time to slag off another company and leave this one alone.
