Team 3 Gone

I left Merck a year ago. I still have friends who are employed by the company. They are worried for their jobs so I took a look at cafe pharma.
First, I always used to look at cafe pharma because we were always left in the dark at Merck. This is the first time that I am on the site in a year. What I have noticed is that the companies with the most posts have the most unengaged employees (fault of company, not people). The companies with the most posts have the most toxic cultures. Look at Merck and compare to many other companies- Merck is not in good shape.
I felt trapped at Merck. No opportunities- no positive motivation- horrible culture. The motto should be patients, people then company. At Merck, I always felt company first.
If you are on cafe pharma looking for information, there is a lot to be said for that. Get your resume out there and leave. Why are you staying with a company that makes you constantly worry about your job and financial future? There are plenty of jobs out there- making similar or more money- and you won't have to look on this site for answers. Bc you will get them up front. Best of luck to all of you. Stop worrying and do something about it. You will be surprised how much better that you are treated at a different company. I am only replying because I have worked with some great people at Merck.

Thank you for the inspiration and common sense. It really is no fun constantly looking over our shoulders, but isn't that just pharma these days?! Did you stay in pharma or switch industries successfully?
