The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

People who worry about tattoos and weed need to be controlled. Sad actually.

Silvestri is royally messing things up out of Ohio- anyone else agree? Gets fired from every division but somehow gets another job somewhere - Endo, Comm, Imaging (sold), Spine, now SSS. How does this happen to a guy who knows nothing but gets shuffled all around after ruining everything he touches

I have them. There was a point in my life when I thought I would forever be a Marine. But an injury prevented that from happening.

Now as a rep I am having them removed. It takes time and money. I wear long sleeve compression shirts to cover them in the OR. Sucks but it is what it is.

I agree that some form opinions based on appearance. I've used it as motivation to work harder, know more, and be a better resource for my customers.

There is no right or wrong answer here. But I would suggest that, as some have mentioned, you make sure it's what you want now and later in life.

My tattoos are taken from sketchbooks from both my grandfather and a platoon mate who never came home. I love them and they all have meaning, but I will agree that they can also hinder you from being taken seriously.

Just my two cents.....

Posting this kinda stuff on a Sun Night/Mon Morning at 130 am on a Holiday weekend? How many drinks did you have in you last night? LOL

Let's be honest with ourselves. The reason the vast majority of people get tattoos is to get noticed. This need for attention stems from some void they have deep inside from childhood, a girlfriend who cheated on them, parents who weren't around, etc. Its the same reason that is soooo important for to people wear skinny jeans, pointy dress shoes, parachute pants, flannel.... whatever is trendy. Fortunately, you can change clothes with the times, but a tattoo is for life.

Have you ever seen a 40 yr old with a "cool" tattoo... a 50 yr old, a 60 yr old.... Hell know. They all look stupid once you are out of your thirties. The tattoos fade, get distorted. Your skin WILL change and effect the look of the tattoo.

Most of us realize inking up in our younger years will look rediculous for the next 40 years of our lives... that's why we laugh at you. Your decision to ink up your young skin is a clear indication that your fragile ego beat out rational thought and an ability to plan for the future.

I'm good with all of it, but don't think you are special and don't blame anyone when you make the inevitable choice to have them removed when you are a parent or grandparent.

Is it professional? If hidden, sure. How many surgeons do you see with visible tattoos? Right... none.

*If you were part of the military, honoring a lost family member, or commemorating an accomplishment above Div I sports, the above does not apply.

Those are the rules!

I want to meet you in person so I can slap you across the face. Also, you have multiple spelling mistakes in your stupid rant.
