Again the news that's being delivered, I appreciate the heads up. But again there's nothing humorous about it and that has nothing to do with politics. We are talking about peoples' lives here.[/QUOTE]
What says that big heads at J&J aren't sitting behind closed doors with the same humor? Without legal liability, who says these downsizes would not have more collateral damage for employees and their families? Do you actually think J&J stakeholders are considering the lives/families in all this? I don't find greed or lack of moral compass with this gross mismanagement humoring either.
I can understand your disdain for the sick humor. I have experienced two downsizes in the last 3 years. With over 20 years in the pharma industry, I sit here thinking about my family and the impact as I navigate a new career course. It is important to keep perspective and good mental/emotional health during times of stress. As an op said before, this is not cancer...it's a job. The mole may be intending to push some buttons and cause reaction as to how really crazy this company has played with your life/family over the last 6 years. Imagine if all involved (currently employed or now unemployed) to this and spread their voice. A little wicked humor isn't affecting my life ...nothing compared to the secrecy and lies up until April 7th. Being told by RBD at the cycle meeting that "no downsizes in the near future and stay off cafepharma" is messing with people's lives and sick. I didn't find it humorous either trying to figure out the deselection process and never given the factors. And now looking for a good job in this economy? And J&J could not afford the courtesy to a "heads up" on this unforecasted downsize back when we were asking the questions...."business as usual and focus" was the response. If anything, the mole has heightened my awareness at being stupid in trusting management.
Try not to let the job affect your family and lives to such degree. Jobs are going to come and go and financial status will wax and wane. You will be the same in your family's eyes. Don't come to cafe pharma where people hide behind anonyminity expecting "pretty and correct". Often times, it's an opportunity to let off steam and have a bitch session or to ruffle feathers amongst the frustration. And sooner or later, you will move on and cafe pharma threads will cause indifference..you will not care one way or the other. Hopefully, we will all soon disconnect the apron strings and moved on to happy trails!
