There have been 40 reps and a handful of managers that have left B&L surgical over the last 12 months - myself included. These numbers are factual and represent the overall distrust of upper management. Even if you really need this job I would not take it..... Management continues to lower percentages on the commission plan to make up for unattainable sales numbers set by demagogue's sitting in ivory towers. Management has turned this sales position into an entry level job that pays very little. Ask to see the domestic sales report for the area and then have the hiring manager go over the numbers to see if it matches up to what they are saying you will make. I would bet it doesn't even come close to the number they gave you......

Comp depends, it's common knowledge that some people with no surgical experience have gotten 250k, two year guarantees... only to leave for the next company the moment that expires. The majority get the 65k base + commission. Depending on how long AC, BH, JL allowed a particular territory to dwindle to nothing (of course using creative accounting) which they use to make the numbers look good to Valeant. By the time they go to hirer for territories/positions anyone with industry experience sees through their bs & moves on. To a non-surgical rep they of course shovel that s#it down their throat like it's oatmeal.
If you are trying to get into surgical you may want to consider it just know you can't survive on that job. This again is why Bausch has the highest turnover in an industry that has had to shove people out of. Not AC, BH, JL and even CH, they can run just about anyone out and worse back to PHARMA!
 












The only way to really know what you will make is to look at the Domestic Sales Trend report. As mentioned before, you should ask the hiring manager to go over those numbers with you and explain the commission plan based on the actual numbers from the territory. If the manager won't do this with you - you will probably know it won't match up to the $150k they told you..... I can honestly say that most territories are NOT producing $150k. The above poster is right.... The managers have left these territories open for way too long.

They will tell you they are not offering that this week. Which doesn't seem right, according to AC Valeant is the BEST THING that ever happened to him financially.
Maybe that's why he, BH, JL, and CH continue to high and promote people who's heads are nicely stuffed up their asses? That way their screams about morale, marketing and numbers cant be heard?
