Sun can't get real talent to join

as evidenced by Abhay putting candidates in front of Dilip for final approval and either Dilip rejecting them or their having bailed out after meeting the 'chief' Indian.

If the latter, smart move on their part. The search for the head of derm stands at 6 months, no takers.

Hmmm,'word is out' about Sun.

Ask yourself this question- "Why would quality talent want to join Sun?" The answers are: huge amounts of money or a top management position. But if your top talent, you'll get that anywhere! Sun is where desperate people end up going.

I was recently approached by a recruiter for a Sr level (Director or higher) position at Sun and after 3 phone calls to a few folks who were connected, I very quickly declined consideration. When I told the recruiter and explained what I had heard, he said the position is getting more and more difficult to fill because of the current environment, the leadership changes, the signals that are being sent by the people that have recently left and the reality that tildra is at best a 'me-too.'

I have had several people ask if I knew about the openings... I tell them to run. I also tell to spread the word. I wouldn’t want anyone to experience the same hell I had to. Absolutely the most miserable professional experience of my life.

what exists at this very moment is silos waiting to leave at once. Director gets new opportunity first. Then takes people with them.

Or, in some cases, people leave and the work gets pushed onto the remaining people. So certain departments are chronically understaffed and overworked. Which makes people leave because they don't like the stress. It takes months to get projects done.

I'm now on the 4th person who has reached out to me for the 'inside story' on Sun after being contacted about a position. It only takes about 20-30 seconds and they say 'I've heard enough' and they pull themselves out of contention.
That does not include 2 recruiters, whose reach is a significant multiple of an individual candidate.
SUN has just about the worst reputation going right now.

Oh Geez I wondered what did it for them? Was it one of these:
1. Hostile work environment created by potty mouth CEO?
2. HR not defending women who are harassed either sexually or verbally?
3. The constant off-label marketing by both the PDT team and Opthm. team?
4. The good ole boy network where nearly last place reps get promoted to management positions?
5. Selling of the spread by PDT team and goof ball NSD tries to spin it to tell you how you can do it "legally"?
6. The crappy products and zero pipeline?
7. The constant price increases?
8. The no stock options?
9. The crappy 401 k match
10. The low base pay?

Geez I wonder why people who run from that?

Ten months AFTER we moved in, the home office is still not complete. Bills were not paid so the contractor stopped, there's no training room for new hires, no area for us to eat, like a lunch room, no general area where Abhay can hold company meetings. Oh wait, scratch that, he doesn't think we're important enough to be spoken to.

It's bring your lunch, eat at your desk and don't stop working.

There's a weekly report of when employees enter and exit the building that is reviewed.

Just part of why this is a sh*t show.

This ain't Mumbai boys.

You know what is sad... people will be “tricked” into coming to Sun. Good people. People with good jobs. People who are smart and have integrity. They will get to Sun only to realize they made the biggest career mistake of their life. The money isn’t worth it. Sun is offering a nice salary... but it isn’t worth selling your soul. Ask the offices that have had to do business with Sun, they hate them. It’s an embarrassment to say you work for them. Then on top of it you get sexually harassed by management.

the learning then should be if you're here, you know you are/should be in process of going. And if you're thinking of joining Sun, take heed to what you see here.

Yes, CP has some B.S. on it, but I have to tell you, virtually everything you see about Sun is accurate.

When you have 'American Indians' who have left or who are still here say 'I'll never again work for an Indian company', man, that's telling.

Exec. leadership is an absolute embarrassment.

The issue is not whether SUN is able to attract talent. We have been through two years of supposed attracted talent killing the US operations. The real issue is getting the non-talent to move aside and enable all of the divisions to get back on track with a sensible mind-set. Mid-size company with quality commodity products. Stop the dumb hiring of big pharma idiots and steep price increases to support dead weight.

ok, we'll give you one guess as to who has been behind the absurd price increases the last few years. Only the past year has the increase been single-digit.

Hint: Ashish

It’s pure greed responsible for the price increases... nothing else but pure GREED. Sun could give a sh@# about patients, customers or their employees.

Pure greed to work three hours a day (maybe) and complain on CafePharma, but want maximal bonus and a better car. Sorry Robin Hood. It takes money to fuel the machine. Rumor has it that a replacement has been found. Sometimes you get what you ask for. Chances are you will be one of the first to be put on a plan and sent back to Krogers bagging groceries when the replacement from new boss from big pharma looks at your territory with big pharma ambitions.

It's Dilip trying to get more money for his oil and gas divesting. If you have read the annual report you will know that Sun is using the pharma business to fund Dilip trying to get OUT of pharma. He is trying to suck the company dry, put in bankruptcy, and then start over in oil and gas. He sees the future of pharma is dead.

That is probably the dumbest post I have ever read. SUN Pharma worldwide is probably worth over 10 billion dollars. The petty crap that is discussed on CafePharma affects only a small portion of the current business. Why would a successful businessperson like Dilip think about bankruptcy, when all he has to do is call Goldman or Blackstone and unload SUN Pharma for a king's ransom. Recent history shows that the sum of the parts is always worth more than the pieces individually. SUN Pharma makes money in places worldwide. Don't overplay the brand hand. Right now that is still a venture that can be unloaded quickly if desired.

King's ransom??? bahahahahaha.. I have a bridge to sell you if you believe that. Sun is worthless with shit products, manufacturing issues, and a stock that is tanking. Nice try though. Bankruptcy coming...count on it
