Summit site - folks not moving to KW or RY

Did any one catch the Rahway townhall today!? Summit's fate is sealed and the decision to move folks out to KW <K11> is being delayed to end of the year....WTF is going on!

same thing that has been going on since the announcement of summit closure, KW needs extensive work and millions to get it up to snuff. stalling because management has made a fateful decision that will cost millions of dollars and time constraints that cannot be met in the time alloted. By the end of april there will be some serious management changes at the highest levels and by the time the work is complete, the dwindling workforce will present another problem, all of mercks top talent from top to bottom will be employed in other pharma co's. Too late now, the damage is done.....

Poor decision after poor decision. Same chaos at WP. Top talent has been let go and now people are voluntarily leaving Merck for other pharma companies. That was unheard of 10 years ago.
This company is done unless major changes happen at the highest levels. It may be too late. Merck has created so many enemies amongst former employees and has built a reputation now that I don't think is capable of attracting top talent anymore.

Shouldn't have come as a surprise to us....MMD in SU is in a holding pattern for the move....MRL will soon need to find "more cost effective" alternates to the move! With "douche bag" Duggirala supposedly move coordinator what could we expect...we in L-SP could not trust him with drug development, now we can't trust him with budgeting the move expense. The big purge in April should target him among many of the dead weights this company has!

Another merck employee going through life with blinders on. Never wanted to go to KW or RY, the same thing with a lousy view, look real hard all around you.... what is left? see any forward progress? Nothing but bad attitudes, bad work ethic, back stabbing all through the ranks. what top notch employee would actually seek out employment with Merck anymore? your post says it all, your ilk will be all that is left. Sucking Merck dry till the bitter end!

They just put 75 plus million into Summit. Do you really think they are going to move you to old crap buildings? If they wanted you long term they would never put Summit on the market. Who really has the blinders on?

You, my friend have the blinders on. summit is the only site they even have a remote chance of selling. Think RY or KW would sell? They have put alot more into Summit than 75 Million. Move people to crap buildings? they absolutely will and are going to do exactly that! Employees are only a secondary thought, if that, to this company. wait until you are forced to abide by the policies that were put in place on the Summit site, lets just say there is going to be alot of belt tightening going on in KW, no more business as usual! Stock up on crying towels, your'e going to need them!

Stock does not go up on crying towels. NJ is done. There is nothing long term in NJ. The HUB is cheaper and will provide better results. It's better to have a piece of a blockbuster drug then no drugs at all. China will be making the drugs. Do you have any clue how many satellite plants are popping up there?

NJ is not done. KW is the site du jour. if anyplace is done its WP. Once R&D is done there they will move manufacturing to NC and eventually shut that place down. It's a huge site = huge expense.

Merck has tapped Jones Lang LaSalle to manage the sale of its 1.5 million-square-foot research and development campus in Summit, the real estate brokerage said Thursday.

Merck hired Cushman & Wakefield to broker the sale, and the real estate firm figures the campus will either become another company's HQ or be "positioned for innovative reuse."

Speculate all you want but these are the two campuses officially on the market.
