Suing? Really?

GS and TC wouldn't we better served if we worked harder on keeping our CBM's instead of suing? As an RBD here are some suggestions:

1. The 2,000 RSU's you gave to the RBD's would be better served to the CBM's. They are ones that interface with the customers each day and drive sales
2. Since many of my CBM's are not at plan let's give them a kicker for the profiles and extra administrative work they are doing.
3. Please address the sales force there isn't confidence in the management team. It's great that there is constant communication with the RBD's and TC but again the CBM's are the face of Cubist, sorry, if you have unhappy CBM's the customer will pick up on that!
4. TC you have to make a heartfelt plea to the CBM's you failed at the NSM to convince the sales force you understand their issues. Eric Kimble was a master at this, please reach down for your inner Eric.

As a long time RBD I know I'm putting my job on the line, Cubist is a special place the future can be a bright one but leadership has to do just that LEAD.

Thank you for acknowledging our hard work out here! I am one of the CBM's that believed upper management would do the right thing in due time, however after yesterday's email from Greg I have to say Cubist has reached a new low! I had planned to stay and weather out this storm, but now I will actively pursue other opportunities. Why you may ask? Below are a few reasons:
1. Cubist management knew full well that TMC was coming after their reps, yet they in their arrogance didn't believe anyone would jump ship their first mistake!
2. If the tables were turned and Cubist was downsizing they wouldn't think twice about it because "it would be a business decision"
3. I personally know some of the folks that went over to TMC and they are good people with no ill will towards Cubist, yet Cubist has now decided to make their lives miserable through this farce of a lawsuit
4. This is a scare tactic to the remaining CBM's currently at Cubist
5. They chose to continue to overload the CBM's with unrealistic workload, all this while paying them not a penny more for the extra work
6.They did this during a critical time when all eyes should be on executing a successful launch for Sivextro
7. They continue to ignore the pink elephant in the room, increase our IC
8. There is no end in sight as far as managing 5 products, Greg's email on "field force deployment" was complete and utter bullshit
9. They are going to have a hell of a time filling those jobs to any decent rep out there as no one in their right mind is going to come on board to train on 5 products, profile accounts, do all the admin crap, all the while launching 2 products!
10. Bottom line IT'S TOO LATE! YOU MANAGEMENT HAVE SHOWN YOUR TRUE COLORS! YOU DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT US!

Fuck number 7's point. Raise our base salaries not our IC. I am so tired of the inconsistent sales numbers in my territory. I have a blow out year one year and the next nothing. There is NO consistency and I'd rather have that cushion of a higher base especially when you have a crappy year which we all have had. You can make the IC 80K all you want but if NO ONE CAN HIT THE NUMBER, then it's all in vain. Get us up to 140K in base, then I will think that upper management gets it.

This is a really bad move for cubist. It sends the wrong message to everyone to sue people leaving for other business opportunities. In the end, these law suites will uncover nothing except the desperate attempt for cubist to make a poor statement to the pharma community. The reality is that cubist could have prevented this mass exodus months ago and they did nothing. Now they're pissed and suing because people want to leave??? Shame on you cubist!!!

GS and TC are making a desperate attempt to shift responsibility for losing over half of their sales force within the past year. They've done an unprecedentedly awful job and, although Cubist culture in the past has been strong on accountability, apparently leadership is exempt. I have no faith left in Cubist whatsoever. Every time I convince myself to stay, another stupid thing happens.

Oh, and this "improved expense reporting process" which leadership has blessed us with to make things easier had somehow resulted in WEEKLY expense reports. Are you fucking kidding me? It's become clear that we're the frogs in the gradually increasing hot water, and Greg and Tony think we're too dumb to notice.

FYI Rob, you are going to have a hell of a time filling those open CBM positions, word has gotten out about your scare tactic of suing reps when they leave! No one is desperate enough to take that chance! And if they are desperate you should stop to think about that! You see even if this lawsuit boils down to nothing the PRECEPTION out there is that you will retaliate in some way so why bother! Mark my words, you are and will lose more CBM's this whole debacle will cost you your precious CT launch!

Don't you idiots realize what is taking place? Cubist is setting up sell just like Durata did. Its so obvious but most are too stupid to realize. Only the positive posts on this board come from managers with loads of options. Its not that Cubist has anything personal against you its just business. They are using this sham law suit tactic because turnover does not look good to a potential suitor this is why Durata bribed and threatened the reps to stay. Cubist upper management is trying to keep headcount low to maximize profits to compensate for shit sales.
Don't be surprised when you are bought by pfizer or j&j. Its part of the M&A game. If you have any loyalty in corporate america, then you get what you deserve, a free ticket to the unemployment line!

So what's the plan MF? Go and work for Pfizer so that we won't have to worry about being bought? Tell me where would you go where there is no risk of being bought? You are a troll and a fear monger and I pity you.

This quote is on the MONEY!! Insider trades made in August and October..M&A coming soon. Just pray it's not Merck or Pfizer; both have fully staffed teams which means SYNERGY...Buh Bye

The post is from MDCO trying to scare you. The best defense against against being bought is success. Don't become distressed like MDCO or Durata. Isnt it funny how if someone makes a positive post there are ulterior motives but all the negative posts on cafe pharma are of course genuine.

Cubist is a well run company, doesnt mean there arent opportnites to get better, but its one of the few companies in the industry I am will to invest with my personal money. History would suggest thats a goiod bet.

Exactly! I don't work for your company but I am a shareholder; I'm looking for an M&A price of $95/share and up! Thanks to the Koolaid drinkers like you, I will
Probably triple my
Money while you look for a job :)
Cubist Battling Superbugs Offers Remedy for J&J: Real M&A
The timing may be right for a takeover of Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc. (CBST)

The rising threat from drug-resistant germs and increasing calls from global health groups for more potent antibiotics is placing a premium on companies such as Cubist. The $4.8 billion drug developer is preparing to introduce four new medicines by 2020 to combat bacterial infections that have become resistant to older therapies because of decades of overuse.

Cubist may receive takeover offers based on the prospects for those remedies and could get sold for about 50 percent more than its current price, Cowen Group Inc. said. It already has one blockbuster drug on the market, and analysts estimate its revenue will double to almost $2 billion by 2018. Pfizer Inc. (PFE) could fold Cubist’s antibiotics sales force into its acute-care division, while new legislative efforts to revive the antibiotic market also could draw Eli Lilly & Co. or Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) to the bidding table, according to Robert W. Baird & Co.

I think the point is there is no loyalty in corporate America. At the end of the day the board will do what's best for shareholders and the bottom line. If that means going head count neutral and squeezing every ounce of flesh from the sales force to sell 4 or 5 products. Holding compensation steady to not impact bottom line or selling the company to create shareholder value that's what will happen. Many of us are here because we expirienced that in the past. Just look out for yourself and family and remember it's business not personal.

WELL SAID!!! tank you for being spot on with this accurate post. This is the way of corporate America!!!

No hypothesis its just corporate America. Look at Durata reps, they are all out on the street with no severance. Look at Optimer reps, they were all let go, with little severance, the list keeps growing. Its the new norm in pharma and biotech.
Upper management reads these posts and could change direction in a heart beat. Like was said earlier, manipulating numbers with overhead to compensate for negative sales. Keep drinking the Kool Aid. Don't say you have not been warned. I've seen this way too many times over the last 10 years. Cubist will make a great addition to, J&J Pfizer or even Actavis? Who knows but we will find out soon!!

I guess you can believe everything you read on cafe pharma! Glad I took my own advice and got the hell out of that shit hole!
