Stefan Oelrich email

It read like someone was defending the old Bayer model while doing some CYA promoting the new DSO model. Preferred Sebastian’s message. Still unsettling to read about US impact but it was about all we’ve done to improve and not a message about his work.

Go to Genentech’s Cafepharma page and find the thread titled “Pioneer Ecosystems Phone Calls Day 1”. Get ready for a shit show and start interviewing. No one is safe.

I’ve been through pharmaceutical layoffs before…and that email clearly said LAYOFFS ARE COMING.

It straight up said, “we will lose valuable colleagues…”

Only remaining question is…when does it start? My guess is sooner rather than later

I agree that it will be sooner. They aren’t going to mention layoffs then expect everyone to continue working hard for months. They probably hope many will leave so they don’t have to pay severance.

Told ya all…but no one believed me when I first broke the news a few weeks ago…good luck everyone. First round to begin by year end ‘23/ Jan ‘24 with the next round slated for July ‘24.

I completely believe this.

It’s surprising down through the years how often there is some truth to be found on Cafepharma, not always but sometimes.

And US Pharma is clearly having layoffs. The email on Thursday afternoon made it clear.

I have been shocked how little chatter there has been about it on our teams. Maybe people just wanted to get to Friday…but when we go back to work Monday, the new reality is there are coming layoffs to Bayer pharmaceuticals.

I also suspect some layoffs will be announced soon. That’s why we had the reference in the email about being transparent & letting everyone know as soon as decisions have been made. That’s code for….expect a follow up email in the next couple of weeks. I think we will have cute before Xmas, companies always make these changes before the EOY

We are all getting laid off then I see pictures on Facebook of our VP hanging out with Luke Bryan having a great time in the crop side. How much money could have that saved? At least one or two jobs.

Surprising that there is so little discussion about this on here. Did people just not read the email or just don't care?

The reason is because most of us are very focused on having an awesome Q4’23 and setting up a highly successful Q1’24. We don’t really have time to sit around on CP, save for the occasional peek.

Before the end of the year, but that is just a guess. Pharmaceutical companies always like to make these cuts right before the holidays...it is Oct 2nd now...plenty of time to send out an email, set a date to stay home by your phone - and make the first round of cuts. I bet we know more before October is over.

Five 90 day parts of this change. We may not know a thing for quite some time, depending on what division or role they start with first.

I do like the new DSO model and hope to get to stay in a forward thinking strategy.

The way we do things now clearly need changed!
