Other than telling everybody else what to do, I can't figure out what my long-term care rep does - oh, sorry, LTC Account Manager, whatever.
What products exactly are in the LTC KAM's portfolio anyway?? How many reps on average are they working with?
And why are we hiring new people from outside instead of promoting someone deserving internally?
Because this corporation's talent pool is very shallow. I think it's good to bring in fresh ideas. I know a lot of stale thinking has slowed us down over the last few years.
Fresh ideas or not, what do they do? Anyone know anything definitive that your KAM has accomplished?

To the poster on #11. No, I am not currently one of the LTC people, but I used to be. There is more work than you can imagine especially when dealing with getting formulary approval and all of the contract work that is involved. They deal with the decision makers on who is going to put Novartis product on their formulary. Not easy to do and alot of tough competition with the other companies. As I said earlier, talk with your rep or spend a day doing a ride along and see what they do. You'll see, its not a easy as you think..
Shocker Primary care reps ripping on anyone in a higher position than them this is always the case with lazy reps projecting on others, next you will tell me fat people eat too much or the government is corrupt or Novartis has bad products.
