The king of posters right here. A bunch of pots calling the kettle black. Do your job and stop worrying about what other people do. People who go on rants about how other people don’t work are sad sad people. Quit acting like you are perfect every single day. Like you work from 8-5 every single day. If you ever leave the field before 5 or start after 8, you too are a fraud. Karmaget off your high horse. Everyone falsifies call. EVERYONE. Ever see a doctor running into a room and the wait is going to be 40 minutes or so, but enter him as a call?? Ever have a doctor say “I can’t talk right now where can I sign?” And you enter him in as a call? Ever pass your iPad back for a signature, and you enter it as a detail call? Ever walk into a large practice see 1 but all 5 are in and enter them as a call because the office has a one doctor only policy? We have all done this at least once in our careers. If you live in a glass house don’t throw stones. Karma is a bitch.
We in the Home Office work 9+ hours per day. Why does the sales force think they don't have to put a full day's work in? It amazes us that sales management doesn't crack down on their people to ensure a full day work!! I agree that we need to monitor the sales people. First, tracking their car locations during the work day could be easily done. Second, calling doctors to verify that the rep actually provided a sales message during the call should be done on a regular basis. Third, sales management needs to be riding/auditing their reps 5 days per week. They need to be in the field every day with their reps! The reason for our merger with Takeda is the direct result of the sales force not performing. How can reps not put in the effort when they get a great salary, bonus $s, a car, great health care, stock, expense account, etc., etc., etc.!! Why is Shire's sales culture so bad? Can't we hire sales reps that have pride in their work ethic? Many or all of the reps will be let go upon the merger. It is probably karma.F-R-A-U-D!! No wonder Shire sales force is ranked bottom tier. We need a better auditing process to ID liars and cheaters!
We can't wait for the day when the lazy sales force is OUTSOURCED! Karma, baby!Ok there HO Sunny, put your Snickers bar down!!
Typical home office reply:
Let’s not forgot who pays the bills!!!
What does home office actually do????
1) we know you can’t get sales forecasting correct
2) we know you can’t get goals distributed to sales force in a timely basis
3) we know you can’t get ANY SALES report correct without errors or miscalculations
4) we know u can’t get marketing material printed and proofread correct - phone numbers among other things incorrect on materials
5) we know u can’t develop an original idea or thought on a new marketing piece
6) we know u can’t work to get better managed care coverage
7) we know y’all don’t support the sales force who actually brings in the $$
8) I’m tired of of wasting my breath
Sales force has NOTHING to do with takeda- that was a decision above everyone’s pay grade - and was in the works 5-7 years ago when the move to “rare diseases” etc occurred when they made an investment decision to siphon all the income from Vyvanse and the NBU to fund everything else ...
Company culture my ass! With attitudes like his in home office, no wonder most everything is outsourced !
Best post ever!Ok there HO Sunny, put your Snickers bar down!!

You are kidding yourself. There is no job protection in sales. Not even if you are the biggest brown noser. Oh, sorry that wasn’t very PC of me... “networker”. Management has no loyalty to anyone. If they don’t need you or want you they throw you out. Loyalty is dead in this industry. I commend those that are taking this buyout seriously and have pulled their heads out of their butts and are spending time having fun and putting more effort into their next gig than making the Shire executives money. It’s funny the people who are actually good at what they do are looking to get out and the marginally good, average or the suck @ss loser people are trying to keep their jobs hoping to make it to Takeda. Spoiler alert!!! There will be no neuroscience as you know it, in the future with the new Takeda. They have 0 in their pipeline, it’s all neuro specialized/ rare disease or have a working relationship with another pharma company. trintellix is a Lundbeck product, not Takeda... so you won’t be promoting that. There is no run of the mill pill that they are researching. So your hopes of selling into a highly specialized area or rare disease is a pipe dream.
There will always be jobs for finance/accounting, legal, marketing research, product logistics, pricing, managed care access, manufacturing, R&D, regulatory, marketing experts in the brave new world of pharma. The old model of sales reps is nearing extinction. Sorry but that is the truth. If I was in Sales, I would look into bolstering my education to qualify for a real job. Unfortunately, a real job means you work 50+ hours per week. You can't take time off during the work day to go to the gym, go shopping, sit at the park, go to a movie, picking up the kids after school and taking them to soccer practice, using the company car for personal trips, taking leftover doctor lunches home for dinner, go to resorts for sales meetings to drink and eat in excess(yes, we see the meeting costs!0. The proverbial gravy train is running out of steam. Time for y'all to put on your big boy/girl pants and join the rest of us working adults. You know I am right. Also there is no protection in the HO either. You just like us are redundant, period. Very few will have a job when Takeda takes over but more importantly, do you really want to work for Takeda? Most of us left big Pharma to come to Shire and I definitely don’t want to go back unless I have nothing else as an option. Takeda is big pharma and big pharma sucks. Shire has been a festering dumpster fire for the past couple of years but Takeda is even worse. So enjoy this ride, and get another job because even if you are left standing after the buyout you'll want to leave as soon as you realize your manager was full of shit and Takeda blows.

You sales reps would not last a week in HO! Project deadlines expedited, limited budgets, stress from senior management, etc., etc. You reps have it easy and unfortunately, your lack of performance led to our acquisition by Takeda. Better start enhancing your educational and career credentials because February 2019 is just around the corner. The arrogance of you sales people is humorous. In fact, you really don't sell but rather just deliver pizzas and sandwiches. SHAME!!H.O. people sit and gossip around cubes all day
take long lunches in company cafe
answer a few emails probably do equivalent of 2 hr/day of work
