so confused....

Obviously someone (or several f you) didnt get an offer and has hurt feelings. I can understand. But, for those of you following this post, let me set a few things straight. Yes, they ARE hiring many people with Eyecare experience. A lot of the first wave comes from Bausch. What is more important is an attitude they are seeking. Positive people. Hardworking. Acheivers. Smart. And did I mention POSITIVE? If you take a look at yourself you may not want to admit, but all the experience in the world does not make you a good candidate. You are a complainer. You are already on cafe pharma complaining. Why would you fit in here? Someone with less or even no experience can sell as well, but the right attitude will create the culture and team that is being created here. Over 100 reps are on board-hand picked, chosen for this opportunity. Thank goodness, you werent! Would not want your negativity. Do some soul searching and turn things around.

Malibu or Equinox
Forester or Legacy
And I'm sure there are no upgrades like leather or heated seats
This is distressing. I am floored that people are posting such immature things. No wonder you did not get a job offer. Pharma companies are not offering upgrades to first year employees ANYWHERE. And I dont know of any who are still offering at all. Lets look at the ENTIRE package. Its probably why you interviewed to begin with. Its far superior to Alcon's, Allergan's, and Bausch's. And, the salary they are offering is a decent bump from your current. Grow up!

You're all kind of wrong. I work here and here's how Shire does it. They hire experienced reps at high salaries in important markets (i.e. Big cities). The smaller more rural territories are filled with less experienced reps so they don't have to pay high salaries. Certain markets are more important than others.
Ummmm, no. That's not true.

Yep..witnessed that this week in Atlanta with a cute young rep whose hiring manager was a family friend..zero experience; I was told no less than 7 years experience and launch experience.
Funny, I interviewed in Atlanta too. I was there for three days. The youngest person I saw in the green room was in their 40's. There was noone with too tight, too short, too revealing, spiked heals or inappropriate make up. Everyone was quite professional. So, I am guessing you werent there or you were sent home so you're trying to come up with something mean to say about Shire.

I was in Atlanta last week and the comment above is spot on. The quality of the folks I met was first class all the way. Also, different areas of the country have unique dress styles. However, all the candidates I saw were dressed for success.
