had interviews in Atlanta---was told calling on MDs, counterpart was told ODs..heard hiring reps with no eyecare experience over reps with years of eyecare...what is going on?

Calling on ODs & MDs you dumba...! If you are that stupid, then you don't deserve the job. Just because you have eye care exp and SUCK doesn't mean you should get the job! I did not get the job either but am not bitter. I thought the process was fair and I enjoyed meeting the Shire people. They must have simply found a better candidate. I am ok with it.

I know quite a few great Ophthalmology reps that didn't get hired, ones with launch experience...ones that came referred. This process makes no sense at all

Launching Acuvail doesn't count.

There's a big difference between having launch experience and successfully launching a product. Almost EVERYONE has launch experience unless you're brand new.

Um, no try a REAL product...not this sample signature shit. Trust me with KK at the helm it will be all metrics and sample dropping.

Very true, I know a few who were hired with NO PHARMA experience at all....

It is crystal clear that Shire was looking for people that they could offer minimal salary to with limited experience. I saw many people get rejected who have been in the industry for 15 plus years with eye care experience. You get what you pay for! I saw people going to final interview who had barely bothered to brush their hair. Pretty low standards Shire!

Yep..witnessed that this week in Atlanta with a cute young rep whose hiring manager was a family friend..zero experience; I was told no less than 7 years experience and launch experience.
It is crystal clear that they wanted to hire people with little experience and low base salaries. I saw many qualified candidates who were passed up who had ophthalmology 10+ year experience. You get what you pay for Shire. I saw people with multiple drug launches in complicated disease areas get passed up. None of it makes sense. I saw people who looked like they hadn't brushed their hair get moved on to the final interview while all the professional seasoned people were sent home. Go FigureQ!

That's sad and unfortunately, can't wait to see all the shit show at the nsm. Hooker heels and tight clothes.

Still stuck in limbo here, after successful interviews in ATL haven't heard a peep. Tried getting an update from Princeton One, but that was pointless. Would at least love the courtesy of a rejection....
