Slow and Painful

In HQ its been discussed and it will be in stages. Not all teams will be affected at once. It won't be one cut per team either. AZ will look more like it did prior to the 2000 expansion. Start looking. Now.

H.Q. is the most depressing place on the planet. I walked the halls last week and it was like attending a funeral. It is a ghost of what it was in the early post merger years filled with growth and optimism. I just hope for a package so I can retire with some additional cash. I had hoped to go out on a more positive note though. So sad to see what AZ has become.

Feel the same way except I am in the field..,very sad but hope my leaving will leave an opening for a younger person. Being inside, when do you feel this will start happening? End of year? 2017?

So very sad and depressing. Those of us who saw the optimism that once existed are so very lucky. I have many fond memories! I hope that the bloodletting is quick, soon, fair and equitable. I'd like to enjoy my summer.

No. We want our Q3 numbers! Mush you huskies!! Be afraid be very afraid. If you go on vacation and can't be contacted...no job when you get back.

PC and CVAS first, end of quarter. Diabetes end of year and CNS next year. Start looking. Package won't mean much when you are unemployed.

It pisses me off that a hiring manager would suggest that receiving a package makes you somehow "less than". It is an excuse because time and time again, people hire friends and family or anyone they want. I am not walking away from what could be a decent severence for a bullshit job just to say I was a self starter and beat the clock.

If you stay in pharma 75% of hiring managers, their superiors or direct reports got let go got a package and carried on with a new gig.

what about the five year vesting for retirement plan. Will they waive that if you are just under five years? Many of the BMS diabetes people fall into this category. It would suck to forfeit all of that money due to layoff.

Sucks! The saving plan is three years of vesting. This is why I think BMS folks are gone.

This will be larger than anything we have experienced since the merger but it will be done in phases. They started cutting people in headquarters over 12 months ago and will now move to CBDs, and grade 6 followed by DMs and specialty reps. It doesn't look like they will be offering self I.D. this time though. Straight layoff guidance and the bare minimum to be legal.
They will not be factoring in performance ratings and will not move people from one sales force to another. Also, no relocations will be offered.

Upper Management is having a meeting tomorrow where plans will be discussed in greater detail. Each division will then have separate calls to find out how this affects them. Diabetes call is later this week. DBMs will be re-mapped and districts will be bigger. Reps will barely be affected. As the French say "C'est la vie".

Sounds pretty neat and convincing , almost got me to bite, but the Frenchmen wants 1 billion plus that's about 8 thousands reps and personal , no way he's not touching bloated diabetes!

ALL areas get hit. Jeez, how many times do y'all need to be told. Why on God's green earth do you think everyone in Wilmington are walking around like zombies? What is coming is not going to be good in ALL TA's except ONC.

Right and don't be surprised to see contract stay and AZ reps go. Cost saving in personnel expenses.

This is the dirty little secret that AZ will try to spin or hide that they are moving to a mostly contract sales force. That will not look good. The people will scream that this is another example of losing full time employment and good jobs at the expense of outsourcing. AZ will say they are managing costs in order to hold down the cost of medicines. What a total crock of skunk puke.

Maybe they won't offer self ID like in 2012? But, laid off OR self ID, what's the difference? ....two weeks pay for every year served plus one week, right? So a 10 year rep gets 20 weeks minimum.
I don't see how legally it would ever be less than that or class action lawsuit. I'd think they would do the RIGHT thing and offer a self identification period. There would be masses flocking to that this time!!!!!!!!

I'm a retired rep. Don't really need to work, 60 years old. I have great insurance , I want to do flex time of 3 days a week. Recruiters have told me that several "large" companies will be hiring. Soon. I'd love 25 hours a week for 40 k. Sorry
