If you want my opinion, the additional paperwork requirements, rising minimums on business at Rotech, and most importantly almost zero chance for organic growth because of the audits and required paperwork and office visits prior to setups have made selling in the DME industry almost impossible to do well at any company. However, Rotech is the worst because of their financial situation. If you want my opinion, Rotech is demanding way to much of their SRs at this point in time with so little support because of the financial position they are in and having to keep the ship afloat. Because of this IMHO you would be better off maybe looking at another large DME to get your foot in the door. Apria or Lincare, either one, is run much more wisely efficiently, and professionally then Rotech. And of course the proof is in their success and Rotechs failure.
If you need a job though, I guess it would buy you a good chunk of time to find something else.....my guess is a minimum 6-8 months. However, just understand at this point in the game , they are experiencing a revolving door when it comes to SRs all over the United States which tells you a lot. Dont believe me? Before the interview, go do a nationwide search for SRs and find how many positions are open. The reason for this is because it is just impossible to hit goals that used to be based on many different ways you could get credit and business. Those ways went away over the past couple years, but the goals were not decreased but rather increased. Because of this, it has almost become impossible to succeed in certain markets if you have any competition in any way shape or form. Either way, good luck and I hope it all works out for you.
