Shire neuroscience reps will be axed

we can easily absorb vyvanse and mydayis in our bag. Would not need their neuroscience reps. We can promote those drugs in the psych offices we are already in. Shire reps are screwed.

The Shire neuro reps are screwed. Shire rare disease reps are a different story. Totally different business. Hospitals, centers of excellence, immunology specialists, hemophelia, etc. This could work if done right

so you think it's all that simple. We stay on and all the shire reps go. I mean that's a nice thought but if you really believe that you must be new to the industry. There would be layoffs on both sides.

there will be plenty of layoffs on both sides. They hire consultants to come in and and make recommendations. It makes no difference what team you play for. Time to unload some big Takeda and Shire base salaries.

If Takeda did nothing, “they’d only be waiting to die,” said Masayuki Kubota, chief strategist Rakuten Securities in Tokyo.

Non oncology Takeda is a short bus kindergarten equivalent pharma company that fails at everything. They have to buy other folk’s successful businesses because they can’t build their own.

Good. Shire here. Fire all neuro and eye care reps from shire. Thank you
Well Takeda still needs to secure the purchase. They seem confident. I’m sure most of the rightsizing will happen in Home office type jobs. Doesn’t make sense to double up on the marketing department or 2 HRs. I will say this, I would rather be working on the company that is making the acquisition than the company being acquired.

always

As with any company merger/purchase, the number of people they acquire will be the number of people on the chopping block. It will most likely not take place within the year of purchase...because that would be considered a failure as they are trying to paint the "kum ba ya, how wonderful" the acquisition went. But mark my words, after the first year goes by, and everyone is crossed trained on all products and all departments have successfully merged and know each others business...the ax will fall. I wouldn't get too excited if I were a Takeda employee about this potential purchase.

It’s better than without it the purchase. BUT, they still need to Close this.

We are the ones at the most risk. Haven’t we seen these negotiations with other corporations work in favor of the acquired company’s employees. Odds are not in our favor and that is a fact based on historical facts within the industry.
