Hello,
I would greatly appreciate information on the availabilty of Shepards Cream Lotion. Is it still available, or has it been discontinued. I have used it for years, but the pharmacies say they cannot get it. This is the only moisterizer that I am not sensitive to, so I thank you in advance for information regarding your great product. I have not been able to get information from the company, they only say that it has been back ordered for over 5 months.

Aloha....I also use Shepard's lotion, have for 32 years, and have had a hard time finding it. Just found some today in California by googling Shepard's Lotion. I was told the 16 oz is discontinued but 8 0z still made. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply! I have been using Shepards Cream Lotion for about 32 years, too. I hope the company does not discontinue the 8 oz - the product is a godsend for chemically sensitive people.

Shepard's Cream is difficult to source actives from the girded loins of middle eastern shepards' man spooge. Unfortunately "corporate sheparding" has supplanted the need for as many simple shepard men and the spooge production rate has fallen dramatically. Many blame this phenonmenon on the availabililty of slut sheep and internet porn, which coincidently can be found together on many websites. Whatever the cause, shepards' spooge is in high demand and reduced availability. Perhaps many of you, when fired from big pharma, can find a second career or even work from home profiteering off your spooge production. Rememeber to use green lube materials in the production process because we all benefit when your carbon footprint is reduced. This message was sponsored by PHRMA.

Is Shepards Cream Lotion still being made? I have not been able to find it anywhere.

I am searching also, after using it for 52 years!!! It is the only hand lotion that is successful and not goopy and heavy. I googled it and came up with some choices. However, they say "out of stock" or "currently unavailable". My regular pharmacist has gotten this answer from wholesalers as well. I note, in the google search that it was made by Dermik and now may be made by Aventis. Maybe this is the hiccup.

Has anyone found a supplier? I have used it since 1974 and it's the only lotion that doesn't irritate my skin. If it's not being made any more (please say it ain't so), then has anyone found an alternative that works just as well as Shepards Cream Lotion? vonglass@hotmail.com

I too used Shepard's for over 35 years. Nothing else worked for me. After being unable to find Shepard's lotion for months this spring, I finally tried some "alba very emollient body lotion - original unscented" by Alba Botanica. I found it at a health food store where I live, but also at a major grocery chain when I visited in the midwest (Copp's). It's a little heavier than Shepard's, but soothing and does not cause any skin reactions for me. The other big plus is that it's significantly cheaper than Shepard's. (When I began using Shepard's, it was in the same price range as most other creams and lotions. I think they kept raising the price in hopes that people would stop buying it so they could discontinue it.)

I live in MN and have used Shepard's Cream Lotion for about 45 years. Yesterday I was told by Rainbow Foods/Pharamacy that their supplier has not been able to get any Shepard's lotion for about 3-4 months. Today I called Synders Drug store and they also said their supplier could not get any Shepard's Lotion. The Supplier for Walgreens Drug Store's told them Shepard's Lotion was no longer being made. I went on Dermik Laboratories--AKA Sanofi-Aventis-- web site and emailed them telling them we couldn't do without Shepard's Lotion. PLEASE GO ON THEIR WEB SITE, SEND THEM A LETTER OR CALL TO LET THEM KNOW WE NEED SHEPARD'S LOTION.
I typed in Dermik Laboratories and got their web site.
Address is:
Sanofi-Aventis
55 Corporate Drive
Bridgewater, NJ 08807
Telephone # 800-981-2491

Thanks

There are 22 ingredients in Shepard's Cream Lotion - many are very expensive esp. the sesame oil. It was making the price incredibly high. We received many complaints from you, the consumers, about the price. We couldn't continue to make the product without having to charge a high price.
We hear from many of the customers who have used the product over 40 years and how they credit Shepard's with maintaining their youthful appearance. We received many letters of people in their 80's and 90's who believe they look younger due to the product.

Problem is, the customers don't want to pay $90 or so a bottle which is what the retail price would have to be. So, as much as you say you love the product, you don't want to pay for it. So, it had to be taken off the market.

Non-sense - The price is not the issue. Dermik is dead ....New management does not know anything about Derm. " we are customer focused because Health Matters". What a bunch of bulls !!!!! Shepard cream as well as numerous other products, support for charitable organizations, research in derm have disappeared and will not be replaced unless the business is bought by another company. Sanofi is milking the aventis portofolio to the bone !! and sanofi is using its cash to buy smoking mirrors for billions to create some media rumors. What a pity and what a short sighted view !!!

I do not think Dermik realizes what a gem of a product they have in Shepards Cream Lotion.
Not only is it ideal for the chemically sensitive person, but it also makes a great base to
add other ingredients such as Vitamin E, C and other neutraceuticals.

With so many people being allergic to all of the fragrances, etc that are in most skin products today, Dermik could sell a lot of Shepards Lotion if they promoted it right.
I would pay more than I was paying for Shepards Lotion in the past if they would just
make it available again.

I, too, wish Dermik would put Shepards Cream Lotion back on the market What a great product!

I called their 800- number and got connected with their Customer Service Dept. She said they've discontinued the product and had no recommendation for a substitute. Any suggestions for a good substitute?
