September 2022 layoffs.

Here's the inside skinny folks..layoffs coming late summer. You, the person, does not come into the equation on layoffs. Time with Teva, zip codes, how many/% of targets with certain geography. Most, not all Uzedy reps will be shown the door in September. If Q2 ends as disappointing as Q1, there will be one consolidated sales force of 1 that will look more like a NS salesforce. Approximately 325 territories responsible for both Ajovy and Austedo. Anywhere from 80/20% payout Austedo/Ajovy to 60/40%. Depends on density of Neuro's in territory etc. Hate on me all you want, I'm just trying to give you a heads up. Had discussions all week. Atmosphere is awful in home office.

Don't forget the other elephant in the room, Covid cases are on the rise again with this new variant. With offices reducing hours or heaven forbid shutting out reps again, this industry will take 3 steps back from the 2 steps forward we just gained from last year. Companies like ours with debt, weak leadership, inflated headcount for 1 product and now the delay of another is a recipe for disaster.

If TEVA is making plans for layoffs, why the fuck are they still hiring?!

Teva did this last year. They backfilled and brought respiratory over to NS/NP. 3 months later we have a big reorg. NS was gutted, but NP lost people too. I thing that reorg was when a lot of people decided to leave teva. Most going to neurocrine.

There are many reasons why companies hire or post open jobs before a layoff. Some are positions the company does not want to leave open when it comes to reorganization. Other times it for tax purposes. By having positions posted companies can write off the salary for that position. Government jobs are routinely left open because they do not want to fill the position but need that salary for other programs or they do not want their budgets reduced at the end of the year. Most government departments want their annual increases but need money for other projects. So they post a job with so many requirements they cant be met. So the position stays open forever. Some companies do the same only they do it for tax breaks. Think about it, why is is there are always open jobs even during recessions and depressions? yet those positions are never filled. This is why companies are always hiring, then claim they are not finding qualified people. In some cases that is true, but most of the time its for tax breaks or budget increases.

I was mainly speaking of all the field based marketing and sales openings. Those listings have nothing to do with government contracts or tax breaks. These positions are already built into the 2022 AOP. If there was such a concern about salaries and overhead prior to a layoff, then these positions shouldn't even be showing up on the Teva Career site. I know for a fact that there are at least 2 managers in my area that are currently interview candidates for openings we have here in the midwest.

Interviewing and hiring are two different things. Everyone interviews. Questions is are they hiring? I know my manager has been interviewing since Nov.

So, poster #1 since you are the "leak" in the home office or a relative, bf, gf of someone in home office and have decided to post that a lay off is coming, it seems odd. Only a select few know of an impending lay off and a "rat" who decides to share is not to hard to figure out who spilled the tea. What is your motivation to post on cafe pharma? You never mentioned what if Uzedy is approved then what? Your focus was on np and ns..no concidence I'm sure. Perhaps your not in home office but a rep that just wants others to jump ship so that you can secure your own position but by no merit of your own and most likely don't contribute much to your own script goals.

You could be right about this person. But, it's not hard to believe teva is laying people of. It's hard to say the person is wrong when teva has a layoff every year since 2017. Np/Ns have had a rough 12 months with downsizing/reorg. Then you throw uzedy reps in the mix and it screams layoffs. I came in as a backfill for NP, it's surprising how low morale is here. When it's this toxic you can bet every year people think there is a layoff. It's also why so many people leave and why teva has attrition issues.

OP here...Uzedy is its own animal here. NP and NS will become 1, again. See my original post for what that footprint looks like. My point to "you the person" just meant there are some Uzedy folks acting like they're safe cuz they were brought in to save the day with Uzedy. Nothing could be further from the truth. No one is "safe" because of that. If things remain south with Uzedy, that entire sales force will be eliminated.

You don't have to believe me, but we have meetings daily on this. It's quiet and depressing here.

If it’s not expected to be approved, shouldn’t we see someone in leadership get fired? I can’t imagine how much this all cost if it never makes it to market. You can blame the FDA all you want, but someone fell out of communication, wasn’t paying the right person, or sucking the correct ass. Have we not seen any heads roll? Or will that be after they give up approval?

Quit engaging with his tool who says they're from the Home Office and acts like they know what's going on. He/She is just trying to stir the pot when in all reality nobody knows what's going to happen. We don't even have the May or June numbers yet on Austedo or Ajovy and as long as the revenue can support the cost of the added 100+ Uzedy folks, it will be way too early to make any kind of decisions this person is speaking of. If there is any chance of field force reductions or re-alignment of territories, that wouldn't even be rolled out until fall. And there is a good chance that Teva will have a much clearer idea on the fate of Uzedy.

We have seen 5 or 6 high ranking execs leave in the last 3-4 weeks. I think the highest rank was that lady with the pink hair who was VP of Commercial and Generic R&D. I would have to look up their names, but so can you. I remember her as the one with the pink hair.

I don't care if you believe me or not. First of all, we have sales numbers here most of May, just because the field doesn't see it yet doesn't mean we don't. Secondly, we already have this anchor that's barely, and I mean barely profitable in Ajovy, but you think we can sustain a 100+ people for the foreseeable future just on Austedo? I'm not sure you get it, things are a complete mess here and when I say September, it could be October but there are some rumblings of getting this done before then and have the entire Q4 to get things "right-sized". Hate all you want, just trying to help.
