Sedasys

I interviewed for this position and career connections called me.
Every Endoscopy Center I talk to is terrified about this technology. They think its going to kill someone. Not sure how safe it would be to sell this.

I had to look up "reticent".

I heard they have not hired any sales people yet. I think this is another EES Floop just like InScope - the other attempt to sell to GI.

J&J doesn't understand that GI's are a bunch of wussies. They do not make any decisions and they are afraid of commitment. The will never back you-up at a hospital and they hate spending money.

Selling to GI sucks.

Some Sedasys reps have already been hired in the first wave, and they are still doing some interviewing for other spots. I am currently at the 2nd interview stage. They had hoped to fill all spots for a Sept. 8 training start, but that is not going to happen. They plan further expansion once it receives FDA approval. I am told the compensation plan is the same as the breast diagnostics position (pretty good), but I don't know anything about goals or how they will do their commissions.

This is typical a typical reaction of new technology. I believe that you should read the clinicals, they state that it is safer and patients recovered quicker than the standard of care. Also, there were no adverse events reported in over 1,000 patients. Use much care and always be prepared to discuss clinicals when discussing any medical device or technology. Studies say that cellphones are dangerous due to the microwaves and you may be at risk of cancer, but you can't part with it can you? Here is a study that indicates that it is better than the standard of care and takes away the human error factor.

In my opinion, it safe and effective. Makes total sense!!!!

Obviously words from someone who hasn't been in the field. GI Docs may like it, but Anesthesia hates it...they resist it every step of the way. Regardless of what you think, don't take the job. The management team sucks. They micro manage, and hate anyone who challenges them. Look someplace else!

GI docs I have spoken with like the concept but it has a big hurdle. Seems the drug itself states it must be used by an anaesthesiologist, GI docs are sheep and few will lead with this new technology.
Sounds like a great system, and there would otherwise be a large market, just going to have to find a way to get the drug company to relent.

Isn't that why they are coming out with Sedasys? I thought the drug currently must be administered by a doc but the Sedasys only needs a CRNA with all its gizmos and thingamajigs (insert whatever correct technical medical terminology you wish). Seems to me that if this is the case it would overcome at least one of the "big hurdles". Of course, if that isn't how the thing works, I am stupid and retarded so no gay responses needed.

Great question! What is going on with Sedasys? Have they hired any sales reps? I had an opportunity to meet one of the sales managers...Wow, if she is any indication of the type of person they are hiring, this product doesn't stand a chance!

Couldn't be more wrong. GI is all over this, especially all the Universities/teaching centers. This falls beautifully into Obama's Health Care Cost cutting!

Why do you bother to post? You are obviously bitter about being overlooked. The team is the best I have ever worked for and the most talented too. The atmosphere is unlike any other JNJ company in that it's completely open and transparent. There is no micro bs and the sales team is made up of previous managers and directors, hardly any reps. They call it "Disruptive" technology because it will do just that...of course we will have skeptics in the health care industry...bring it on. The data is squeaky clean and we have had GI & Anesthesia involvement from the go 10 years ago.

Okay machine sedating you !!!

Please,
I do the sedation all day long, Yes the machine is taking my Job until the first Patient dies !!

Now my question is,

Intubate Pt ? Chin Lift ? airway maint ? Ekg changes ? Disconnect ? Decreased Bp with
propofol is not always treated with just decreasing the dose of propofol,

I could go on and on ! but I don't have time to give you Medical training on the web.
