The issues that exist in IT did not occur overnight and most certainly did not start after AM was hired. AM was hired to bring change to a very broken org. Drive out the people who have risen to the top due to only fear and time on the job.

From what I see, a very top heavy organization filled with sr directors providing zero value is starting to change. Some of the worst are gone (KS, MV, SE, BG ) and others (SB, SC, CB, GW) cannot be far behind. Change is finally starting to allow those of us at the 32, 33 and 34 levels to be given an opportunity. Karma.

Dead weight remains everywhere in IT and I see the changes as an opportunity for Quintiles to get back in the tech drivers seat with fresh innovative ideas.

Maybe instead of ranting on this board during business hours, be part of the solution and reach out and speak to AM, EH, PW, or the other VPs. I find them all to be reasonable, willing to listen, and simply trying to make IT a better place.

Fresh, innovative ideas? Like AM walking around to see who is in the office and who is not? Like bringing in people from GM with no industry experience? Like fostering discontent among the leadership, discontent that trickles down to staff? Please list just ONE innovative idea.

Your comment around changes being an opportunity is unfounded. AM is bringing in his pals to fill senior positions (3 at last count). So save your sucking up for when your smooching AM's behind in his office :) And lets see what fresh, innovative ideas are discussed on the All Hands next week. Only point I agree with is there is dead weight--and that's you!

Bwahahaha. You must be one of the new guys, right?

You got one thing right. The issues did not occur overnight. They have been there for a long time. And they are still there.

Pretty much everything else is wrong. It's been a long time since people rose to the top because of time served in Q. The new mantra is that we can't promote people because it costs money. It's more like the opposite. The longer you are in Q the more you cost, so the more they save when they fire you.

The opportunities for change have been overlooked for years now. I don't see that changing.

"Maybe instead of ranting on this board during business hours". This sentence sums up exactly what's wrong with the world view in Q. Not everyone is in RTP. Or even BAN where every hour is a business hour. Q is global. Or at least it's supposed to be. Q != RTP.

Ask yourself, if they have been trimming "dead weight" for years now and there's still lots of it left, are they maybe doing it wrong? How about training, redeploying, listening?

You nailed it. Our lifetime award winner and illustrious leader does not listen. He has orchestrated the mess we are in and he is deaf dumb and blind when it comes to to doing things differently.

That's funny. Here's Karma for you: A friend of mine was contacted about a retained search for a Sr Director position not on the website: Sr. Director, Global Enterprise Solutions. This will report directly to AM and once again, this will be filled by someone from the outside. Somehow the powers that be have overlooked your brilliance as they continue to build the team by bringing in outsiders. As you so eloquently stated "Karma".

I guess they fired LW then? Heard she was too much of a straight talker to be a fit for the new org. Shame if true, always liked her.

Not so sure. His new PMO head is female and he is absolutely enchanted by SB
I wasn't considering SB to be anywhere near the same leadership level as LW. It does reflect AM approach to his "girls" (a reference he uses for female staff) losing real responsibility and authority. The PMO hire will be interesting to watch but I guess its lip service and the decisions will still go to the new-old boys club.
You just have to look at the evidence .......Anyone who gives CB a bigger role (his only accomplishment was the eagle creek fiasco, discounting the VP sucking up he has made career out of) MUST be using gender as a criteria for leadership.

True... LW has track record of delivery with difficult customers. SB has track record of talking about delivery. You're probably right about the old boys club. And I don't care for his reference of "the girls" either. Feels demeaning even if that's not his intent.

Couldn't agree more on CB. Got to know him as "Mr Teflon" and he is still taking no accountability and just sucking up so hard for that VP position. His team is useless and haven't delivered anything truely useful to the company.

Harsh. You must have always wanted an app that helped you find your way to the office?

Looks like I'm a poor judge of leaders, as it seems SB has now been promoted to the same level as LW. Certainly AM, MP and RT have sent a message on what they expect..... Suck up, fill out useless spreadsheets, ride on the backs of others, blindly move roles to India (although the true cost is higher because NH can't improve things), etc. Anyone who values integrity, innovation, teamwork, personal improvement should get out now before you are forever tarnished by the current QIT reputation (which is now really bad with pharma and other CRO's)

She seems to have sprinted by her boyfriend who remains a Director. Anyone who works with SB knows her style and knows she would throw you under the bus to make herself look good. Not a team player

Christmas arrived early. I received an offer today and will be giving my 2 weeks notice after the new years holiday. The last year with AM at the helm has been rough. Off to greener pastures. Good luck and happy holidays to all :)
