SD don't expect Loyalty or motivation

On the contrary, I think the SDs demand loyalty and motivation times ten. They want every drop of blood, sweat and tears they can squeeze out of you. They want you selling with your dying breath. They want you giving 110%, right up until the very second you get the phone call, you know, the one where they kick you to the curb.

You are so right "They want you giving 110% right up until the very second you get the phone call... the one where they kick you to the curb". This is no joke. I happened to me recently and now I am a former employee of Pfizer.

“Why Hello there Field Force, SD here. I wanted to let you know of a VERY EXCITING development. No, we’re not yet ready to pay out your IC bonus. And no, we are not ready to let you in on any layoff figures or whether your job is at risk.

The new development is that, as an organization that believes in developing our senior management (Legal note: By senior management, we mean NOT YOU), we have spent millions to get our consultants to teach us a new buzzword: “footprint”.

Think about how powerful this is: for the next few IEMs, I will be able to add “footprint” alongside such motivational and awe-inspiring captions as:

“Customer-Focused selling”

“Right Sized”

“Segmented CUE content”

Who knows the impact that my slides will have on your NRxs of Toviaz…Just thinking of it makes me want to take a four-day weekend...although, to be honest, this JOB is like a four-day weekend, with less stress.

Come to think of it, perhaps this newly developed buzzword, and my awesome leadership style, would be better served by organizing a Town Hall in the State where I don’t reside…once my Ops Manager has built my slide deck and my RC has booked my flight and luxury hotel trip, that is.

The upside of looking busy to my RP and Adele more than offsets the downside of having to talk with you lowly sales reps...

SD OUT!”
