Sales suck.....

To be fair the product benefit is significant. The major roadblock is trying to convince urologist to use Provenge, this is new territory for them and most can't afford to not get reimbursed. The fear of potentially losing your practice if your not paid is too big a hurdle.

Oncologist are more immune to price. Unfortunately they house a smaller percentage of the patients (market potential).

The market is reacting and Dendreon is not prepared to respond. Time will tell, I'm betting a dark night will slay the dragon (clean house) and take the spoils of war ( 1.3 billion in sales 4 years out..)

Big Pharma at $14.5 - $18

Listen knuckleheads. It is a simple model that the cutters (Urologists) do not yet comprehend. The urologist gets 120 day terms (no outlay of cash) and usually gets reimbursed within 21-60 days (now the worst case scenario). Not to mention the benefit to the patient far exceeds any of the barbaric regimens we have exposed people to in the past. The old adage of whats worse, the chemo or the disease? This is now exempt with Provenge. It is a true Win-Win across the board. Once the cutters figure this out, they may want to actually practice medicine again and Dendreon rises from the ashes... 6-9 months $22

Thanks again Bart. Go F yourself!

So have the pink slips come out yet? I suppose the company would be kind enough to send out the slips before announcing it to the market. Any idea how many people will lose their jobs in this first round of layoffs?

Sounds like a problem with current sales force with not enough clinical knowledge to educate and SELL the urologist. Also, marketing to primary dr./pt. population to demand uro stop cutting and prescribing the best treatment. What tx would you want your father to have? EDUCATION! CLINICAL SALES EXPERIENCE! COURAGE OF CONVICTION!

Significant benefit.....2 months for 100k is not a significant benefit. You are dying a slow death. You will be bought or close within 12 months. Don't blame buy and bill. If there was a benefit your product would fly off the shelves. Would you pay 100k for 2 months?

Yeah I'm the moron...you work there the moron is actually you. Read the writing and keep making excuses about the minimal benefit for the price......Wait I'm sorry extends survival beyond 2 years......from 23 months to 25

That's the beauty it's your choice, very few therapies provide such robust survival. When faced with death most folks choose to fight for every day, many PC cancer patients live longer and some don't.

Don't be so cynical. It's an insult to all the patients that are facing death. Wether Dendreon survives or not, Provenge has made an important step in fighting cancer.

Absolutely it is NOT overpriced. Yes, the current sales team needs to look for jobs because they're not performing at Dendreon for sure. They had plenty of time to sale Provenge and failed at it big time!

Over 100 sales reps were hired in the fall of 2010. Which territories are ranked in the top ten? Just because an infusion center is established, does this mean the oncologist will use Prfovenge? Top 10 ranking please?
