Sales Rep Paradise? What a joke! Run, Run, Run!

His leadership team tell him his ideas are great. Major part of the issue. They are as bad as he is.
This is a fricking disaster. We are in a free fall and our leader won't be making any changes. To the poster that said he was doubling down on his consultants choices, that's exaclty what will be happening. No one is making money and morale sucks but Vince is plowing ahead like a bull in a china shop with his shitty plan to move us to a specialty sales force. Why? Because ZS told him to and his spineless AVPs, with their noses up his ass, said "go for it". Are they all really this stupid? Of course they are. Vince doesn't want to hear from anyone other than those who agree with him.
We are all expendable to Vince and this group. They don't give a rat's ass about you or anyone but themselves.

Another Advanced Surgery field call with zero substance. Once again V tries to push clinical selling, like that’s what’s causing us to miss numbers. We don’t lose clinically, we lose because of contracts. Telling us how to differentiate Perclot vs. Surgicel Powder isn’t why we are so far behind the number.
Then introducing the newest AVP and listening to him talk about integrity, purpose and principles? Seriously? He should be asking Vince about these things. Integrity is transparency, honesty and accountability - all traits we’re lacking in Advanced Surgery right now. Purpose would imply a strategy, something Vince doesn’t have except finding ways to blame others for the train wreck he’s created. And principles? What would those be in Vince’s world? He hired a guy that checked all the boxes that Vince’s sales books tell him mattered back in 1998. Maybe he already knows this and doesn’t care that we’re losing good people daily. Maybe that helps the bottom line and lets him continue to justify why we’re lagging. And now he’s blaming the quota setters for why we’re missing? This guy continues to show us how out of his depth he really is.

I can’t name one good thing Vince has done since he has been here. Its gotten worse and worse with changes he has made.
Bad decision after bad decision with managers he has hand selected, changes to KAMs and the disaster comp plan. All while Ethicon continue to destroy us contractually.

It's a mess and Steve, Vince and Ifty are the problem. Did you see how disengaged Vince was on the call? No sign of Steve and Ifty never shows up. But Vince is done. He looks so demoralized. He only has himself to blame, but he never will.

Hey Vince, how did your halftime meeting go? Heard you packed up and left early. Really, you blame the sales team for a lack of accountabilty and then you bolt? What's our game plan to hit our goals in the back half? Oh, you don't have a plan? Typical of big V. All talk no action.

Wish I could have left that meeting early too.

What's disappointing is how disengaged our leadership is. Whether you like Vince or not, let's admit his leadership style is old-school and out of touch with what we have to deal with. He's unhappy, either with us or all of Baxter, and it shows. And the broader leadership group as a whole has communicated less than the old one did, which is not a good thing. Our comp plan is a disaster and our product launches have our best people leaving or looking to leave. But they won't acknowledge or remedy anything. It's like it's all our fault and not their misguided decisions. I was hoping my manager would come back from that meeting with something to offer but it seems that whiffleball was the most important thing.

It was a great meeting. I learned a lot from the speaker that I will share with my Team. I didn't realize that he left early.
