This S1, S2 and S3 is the new "Attrition Model." It was created to motivate reps to leave who were deemed an S1, in lieu of having yet another layoff. Merck has no clue..they just know that there are too many folks for the products right now and that in the future they'll be able to hire 'rentareps' at a reduced salary with little compensation downside! Merck over the years has been able to screw up a steel penny! Anyone remember Prinivil/Zestril, destroying the hospital salesforce for Proscar, screwing up Primaxin to save our relationship with ID, Zocor/Lipitor, Dolobid, Aggrastat, Cozaar/Diovan! We've been able thru our great MBA's and marketing to ruin more good drugs than most other companies have had..QCS was a real breakthrough..when we got through nobody wanted to see us again..now we'll make ourselves wanted! The best way to do this is to produce products that everyone needs and provide the resources and samples that the customer wants..not what management tells us that the customers in NY/NJ/Mass. tell us they want! S1,S2,& S3 are just meaningless ways to deny those who've made the company great..another MBA scam produced by your overpayed friends @ Rahway!

Maybe Ken Frasier and our worthless leaders should have watched the National Geographic special on tv last night "stress among an organixation", not good for health, mind, less productivity, more sick days for the "insignificant s", overall bad business and ultimately hurting company and its profits. ---ahhhhh, sweet karma! Does merck think we are stupid? I pity the one's who stay and continue to drink the kool aid. Merck does not care about you or how much you have put in their fat wallets. Get out, try to wait for your severance though. It is owed to you for all your hard work and the stress you have endured. i'm glad to see merck slowly crumble, LMAO at this joke of a company and yes i am waiting for my check.

Yes, it is about time for another Bush to come in and screw up the world more. Triple the deficit in 8 years, push the economy into a 2nd great Depression and then blame the new guy for the bad economy and being big government. People will believe anything.

No one in American history has created as big of a deficit as Obama has, and he's only been in office for two years. Luckily, the majority of Americans came to their senses and voted in enough conservatives to hopefully block any further destruction. 2012 can't come soon enough.

Whoa there angry white boy, before we get back to the S3 phone calls (of which I can safely surmise there ain't no way you are getting a ring ding), your ranting is worrying me. Have you checked into getting any meds for that? We have some fine ones right here at Merck.

But I don't really think you even work here. There must be a lower limit of stupidity for hires, and you have not achieved that yet. Go back to World Net Daily and find that birth certificate now y'all.
 






What the S3 call should sound like is "we are going to give all our Sr/Execs and most of the execs this S3 nomenclature and give you new responsibilities that managers should have been responsible for but we as a group are so imcopetent that we're going to give you those jobs and call you something new" This one will kill the goose that laid the golden egg if NCM did not already do it! All those folks with experience and knowledge appropriate for running a territory and launching new products that we might have in the future will be gone! It's not just luck that in our region those reps who led in sales with the J&J launch which was the last big one we had were the experienced ones and their knowledge of how to do it was critical to those of us who were new and didn't know how! Management gave us stupid trackers and a host of other 'bullshit' ideas but it was the long term tenured reps who had launched many drugs successfully that really had the info! I picked on one of these mature reps and in year two when everyone else was still failing I won my first VP and cleaned house! I'm now considered an 'expert' and I was given it freely by an 'old hand'! When they are gone then we'll be stuck with marketing, and we'll be dead!
